What is the cause of diabetes?

Depends on which type of diabetes you're referring to.
Type1, type 2, GD, MODY, type 3C, MIDD, CFRD all have different causes. The causes for T2, GD and T1 (including LADA), the most common types of diabetes, aren't fully understood yet.
The other types I mentioned have a clear cause.

A doc at the hospital reckons statins caused mine.
