Why worry about a splash of milk in tea/coffee ???

Just when in Italy don't ask for a latte as all you will get is a cup of or glass of milk as my son found out when first he stayed in Rome.

Strong, black, no sugar for both tea and coffee for me, has been since my 20s, my Italian contingent put a pinch of salt in their coffee - works great for the flavour but I don’t do it often

That's probably right for a small teacup. I need 2 of those in a mug of coffee.

I personally wouldn’t worry too much about a small amount of carbs in milk for tea/coffee. But luckily I have always drank my coffee strong and black, made in a sage bean to cup machine with the best beans I can find. Never drunk tea.

On starting low carb I worked out my coffee habit included at least 600ml a day of skimmed milk, up to 1,000ml. A bit more than a splash.

That's an awful lot of cups or mugs of coffee.

The milk/cream whatever you like is probably fine for blood sugar control. It might not be great for dieting/fasting/ketosis as I would expect it to stimulate an insulin response and insulin is a fat storage hormone.

I used to get through lots of coffee, I'd drink it pretty much throughout the day. Then I got an Aeropress and now have one coffee a day, first thing when I get up. I like it strong, black and unsweetened. The Aeropress is a fabulous invention for people like me (too tight to buy a proper espresso machine for home, but does like very intense coffee)

I used to have milk in coffee but stopped that years ago. I have never ever liked cream in coffee. I also generally loathe UK standard tea (the smell of tea - either leaves/bags or in a mug) makes me feel ill. Except quite recently I discovered I quite like flavoured black teas and, if absolutely required to be polite, I can drink standard UK tea so long as the squeezings of a cow are nowhere near it.

Short form - I don't like milk or cream in any hot drinks.

Jim I usually have one cappuccino in the morning with foamed milk from then on it's black espresso coffee for the rest of the day till bed time when it's a cup of herbal or fruit tea my favorite being Novus Wild Encounter Tea, ingredients Hibiscus flowers, apples pieces, rose hips, elderberries, strawberry pieces, passionfruit pieces, sunflower blossoms, rose petals, blue corn flowers, fruit flavours.and you don't put milk in that.

But if and when I drink milk it is full fat milk as to my mind skimmed milk is nutritionally next to useless.

Me too I always have at least 2, maybe 3 and I have been known to have 4 if the hotel has put out enough. Still I find it a useful guide to work out how many cals are in my tea.

That sounds more like a fruit salad than a tea!

Only have 1 coffee a day & has to be strong & black, sometimes add coconut oil, have a bit of Full fat milk in tea though, a treat is a Costa flat white with coconut milk

Apart from the calcium, phosphorus, B vitamins, potassium and vitamin D of course.
Vitamins A and D are fat soluble take out the fat take out the vitamin so it has to be added back in, whole milk has all of the above including the fat soluble vitamins such as vitamin A and D It also tastes so much better.

I remember milk curdling in coffee / tea when I was a kid, this was from people / parents not putting the milk back in the fridge.

It was enough to turn me off milk for life.
