Metformin Increase

There are various free apps that will alow you to count the carbs in what you eat.
Carb Manager is one, my sugr is another
I think you will be quite surprised how many things we think are 'healthy' aren't when it comes to carbs.
Some of the apps allow you to input you target macros - that's the ratio of protein to fats to carbs
I found them very useful when starting out, and like the test strips, once you are in good habits, you can stop using them.

Thanks. I just loaded that carb manager app. I will start using it once the strips arrive. I have gone the low carb route before and it worked but I never used an app for it.

I am about a stone overweight and I know low carbing will get rid of that and help get my sugars back under control.

Just hoping this double dose of Metformin isn't too hard on my body. 2 grams a day is quite a lot.

Did you consider asking your GP to increase the dose gradually? You’re more likely to get side effects if you jump straight from 1000mg to 2000mg in one go.

I thought that and I did ask, but was met with resistance. I also asked if there are any other medications I can try? That wasn't really answered in my opinion.

Not all patients do as the Dr dictates! ;)
