Diabetes.
Had covid for just over a week, unvaccinated and more than likely Delta. Felt pretty much ok for the first 3-4 days, in fact I was hammering out weights and exercise bike at full fitness level 3 days or so in.

Day 1: prior to test: Came back from a walk and was sweating, but felt cold, thermometer couldn't get a reading (none contact, just kept saying "Lo..").

Day 2 prior to test: Only way I can describe it was that I felt "odd".. Tiny bit of a itchy throat.

Day 3: LFT came back positive.

Day 4: Same as above but heart was thumping, blood oxy was normal, could not sleep. Body would refuse to settle. Coughing a lot.

Day 5: No sleep again, thumping heart, couldn't settle. Taste and smell was off, most things smell like burning. Lost interest in food.

Day 6 - Day 9: No sleep was killing me, slight chest squeezing sensation in the middle of chest.

Day 10: All symptoms started to ease relating to covid.

I've had a lot worse, blood oxygen was stable at 98-99% throughout, cough cleared within a week, but still no sense of taste (and some smell) on week 3 now.

I am newly negative after 12 days. I felt rubbish for about four days then recovered, but was tired most of the time. I was very afraid of getting it and was scared when the positive happened. I am still feeling exhausted if I overdo things, and a bit of nausea which has been there since the first days, but I am getting better ! I am a Type 2 and control by a low carb diet so I don’t rely on metformin. I was hard pushed to eat properly during the beginning, I didn’t want to eat at all ! I am taking Zinc lozenges, which I have to say was great for helping my razor like throat, and magnesium, calcium and vit D3 all the time which definitely helps with getting enough of these supplements due to a strict low carb diet.
You will recover, it may take a few days longer, but you will get through it.

I had covid early March 2020. Back then it was truly petrifying because the 111 message said not to go to hospital until your lips were blue. Also they didn't think you could have it if you hadn't been to Italy or another hotspot. So I was on my own, blacking out through lack of oxygen when coughing. I felt abandoned.

I now have covid again. It is much milder. It has left me with a nasty chest infection and post viral fatigue but it isn't terrifying nowadays as we can get help if we need it.

Edit: I am fully jabbed

Yesterday was my first negative antigen after 8 days positive.
No symptoms, only picked up on a routine work check.
Fully boosted.

Yep. There are many tools in the box now to combat it.
That and Omicron is nothing like the first lot of variants like Delta and Alpha. Omicron is generally quite mild.

I was in contact with a couple who were developing covid on 28th of March, developed symptoms on the evening of the 31st, but it was very mild and was soon feeling better, negative test on the 5th.
I just wish they had told me - I went out to the shops and met family and neighbours the day before I felt unwell, after they knew they had Covid. They told people they had not met up with, but not me. I really don't understand why as we are in regular contact.

This time round I had heavy cold symptoms for 3 days before testing positive. I know several others who were like this too. I felt sure this was covid so stayed away from people. I tested negative at 2 pm one day. Then by 3 pm my temperature rose and I tested again and was positive. This is a clever virus.
