Manuka Honey

Cheers , just been diagnosed with Barrets oesophagus so wanted to check .
Are you hoping the manuka honey will relieve the syptoms of that?
I think with more than one medical condition we need to concentrate on the one causing most problems.
Hope you get some relief and better health.

Ordinary unpasteurised honey has many healing benefits. I've used it all my life, and my Mother taught me. So while Manuka is extraordinarily good, ordinary honey will deliver the same benefits at a trifle of the cost.

However for those of us who are diabetic, any honey translates as sugar. Which is a no-no for us with regard to eating it. External application for wounds, however, should be okay, but don't lick the spoon.

Hi. Manuka honey like all honeys is almost 100% sugar and not a good food for diabetes. If you have it control the quantity and test to see how much it is affecting your BS.

Manuka honey
Done a finger prick 1 hour after the Manuca 4.7
what did you do with the manuka honey? Take it from a spoon? In a drink? What quantity? I wonder if gargling in water, then spitting out would be beneficial?
I know. I ask too many questions.

Ooh, that must be sore. Hope you get good news. Do let us know how it goes. Oh, and well done on the diabetes management. Would be very easy to let that slide, all things considered.

I use a local honey to sweeten things these days as I don’t like using artificial sweeteners, yes it’s pure sugar but as I use 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon every now and then depending on what I’m making at the most it’s 3g of carbs and as long as I factor it in to my carb count it doesn’t affect me at all and for me much healthier than sweeteners

Sounds very painful.:(

Have you been tested for Helicobacter pylori? This bug in the stomach is the cause of most stomach ulcers and can cause acid reflux. If you have it then the treatment is very simple with some antibiotics.

Many people have the bug with no symptoms, but then it can flare up.
