Hi I’m Paul 62 year old Male, married and live in the Uk, I have 3 Golden Doodle girls and 3 Sphinx girls who are mam and two daughters, my three long term foster children aged 17 and 10 who I’ve had over five years and a nearly 11 year old that I’ve had since he was 2 years old, there all very much our family now. I enjoy holidays and weekends away but it never happens without children. I was diagnosed with diabetes over a month ago and taking 200mg of metformin which initially caused me problems and ever now my bloods are all over the place, I’ve not had a good day as bloods at 24, so very tired and listless, I’ve also had sciatica for the past three years, some days my mobility is restricted but I try to crack on with frequent rests.

my name is Lorain, I’ll soon be 66 and am Canadian, currently live in south central British Columbia.
diagnosed with type 2, but I think that’s wrong and will chat with my doctor next week for further testing As my C peptide numbers were normal but A1C was 6.5. Think there may been an autoimmune factor….we shall see. In the meantime I have gone, at first very low carb, and now carnivore. According to my CGM I have reduced my A1C to around 5.7 but numbers are improving daily with zero carbs. My A1C went high after three months of tamoxifen which I was urged to take after a breast cancer diagnosis. As it turns out that can be an issue and does cause diabetes in older women (not impressed). I also have lots of autoimmune issues so maybe we’re looking at LADA. Something else…I had serious acute pancreatitis 16 years ago…is my pancreas broken? Maybe type 3c diabetes. As I said earlier I need more testing. Doc is great and I’m sure she’ll be happy to do that.
I am not overweight , I’m very active with weight lifting and lots of walking (sweet black lab helps). Off sugar for more than a year

Hello everyone, Admin team - Thank you for having me on board!
My name is Stephen (or Spike is may nickname) I'm 41 years old and I am a Type 2 Diabetic, diagnosed in Nov 2018 but probably had it before this date. I am male btw lol.
I am very well versed and researched heavily in low car/Keto/Intermittent fasting and I'm currently writing a book on the subject ( I'm not selling or advertising admin - just saying my interests)
I have a hamster called "Snookhams" which makes him sound cute but he attacks everyone including me, I also keep sea monkeys!
I live in Crawley, West Sussex but am from London originally.
People would describe me as a king yang person, I'm 50% serious and 50% child like ( I think I decided I wasn't growing up when I hit 40 years old! lol)
I used to work for 999 Ambulance Service as an Emergency Medical Advisor and in that role I was dealing with Type 1 and 2 diabetics as part of my job (besides every other medical situation you can imagine) on a daily basis. I must point out I am no longer working there as I left for something less stressful after working there over 4 years and through the pandemic.
My fave city is probably Cancun Mexico, just because Mexico is beautiful and I love it there.
I have lost a significant amount of weight 2 times in my life with the first time losing over 10 stone over a year, ( I was 25 stone at start weight) I kept this off for over 7 years and also got offered plastic surgery to remove the excess skin on my belly. I then lost 5 stone in 2019 after the diagnosis of T2 diabetes which was a result of me being in life threatening situation previously and hospitalised for 4 months, I put all the weight on again whilst in hospital - so after I got out I decided to improve my life again.
I have put on abut 4 stone during the last year so I been yo-yo ing a little. I am very self aware mentally and physically but the last year as been hell for me with he T2 diabetes - I am now at a point that I have taken actions to start the remission process with my T2 diabetes and althoughI am restarting my journey in weight loss too, I hope to help others here too.

I’m a newbie here, so hi to everyone. My name is Celia and I live in Coventry. I’m 74 going on 17, honest! I’ve been diagnosed type 2 for many years, 10 or maybe even more but have been very blasé about ‘managing’ my diabetes until now. This year my HbA1c was 119 and I have been forced to wake up and start taking back some control. The problem is that despite having had it for so long I am in fact a complete novice. So I’m here to learn and fast!
