insulin

those who take insulin once a week or every day

Hello, insulin is normally taken every day, sometimes multiple times a day, and there are lots of different types.

I assume from your previous posts that you are T2? Have your diabetic team mentioned starting insulin to you?

My knowledge of kidney issues is relatively limited (mine are OK though would almost certainly be better if I hadn't been diabetic for 53 years).

It's probably something you should be asking your GP, but this link might be useful

Lots and lots of people live with kidney disease and don't even know it, at least as a diabetic you get your kidney function monitored.

In my own case, I take blood pressure drugs and try to keep my diabetes under control so as to minimise damage to my kidneys.

But I would urge you to talk to your medical team and take their advice on preserving your kidney function.
