I’m asking this on behalf of my mum. She has had her 1st injection today. She’s been told that she’ll need 3 injections a week for life. Is this a normal way to treat this? Is there anything else that helps apart from the injection?

I'm no expert in this @Sarah69, but I thought that B12 injections were usually every few months, so maybe quarterly? A bit like with some other deficiencies, they may choose to use loading doses to start with. They'll then monitor to see how things are going.

I'd think almost every other day would be tricky to manage, unless your Mum were being trained to do them herself.

I wonder if she misheard or is picking up on the loading dose and supplementation being needed for life and joining two facts together. She needs to have a chat with her Doc or nurse again.
