Are you already using some sort of glucose sensor (eg libre or dexcom) or are you hoping for a watch that monitors glucose without a sensor?
There have been a few threads about the latter but the verdict appeared to be that the technology is not really there yet?
Hi All and good evening, Asking on behalf of my husband who has Type 2 controlled with tablets. He is considering buying a blood glucose monitoring watch as his fingers are becoming increasingly sore using lancets. Have any of you lovely people experience of these watches, please.
I didn’t know that there is a watch with a sensor but I really like my Apple Watch for swimming. Used with the Apple Fitness App, it monitors heart rate & pace, identifies the strokes correctly (apart from Aqua-fit! ) & gives plenty of data for improving performance. I previously used Fitbit but the strap on my second one was defective and they argued about replacing it under guarantee so I said bye-bye. I preferred the layout & format of the Fitbit app but the Apple is more reliable.
I’m currently trialing the freestyle Libre, so will see how it copes with water frolics. I’ve taken on board advice about covering the sensor up for protection.
