Is there anyone who hates testing their blood sugar?
I have difficulty because the numbers screw me up. Meaning it really distresses me. And that's the number 1 thing I get asked for in medical consults/appointments.
So I normally don't have them when I'm asked. And I try to avoid appointments.
I guess I hate seeing the numbers because I feel like I'm already doing all I can and sometimes they actually criticise the numbers.
Anyone else face this?

I hate seeing "bad" numbers.
But I have realised I can't change anything if I don't know what I am changing.

So, I would recommend seeing today's numbers as the early start and look forward to how great you will feel as they improve.
If they were always perfect, there would be no sense of achievement.

And remember, we can only "manage" diabetes. When there are so many things that can affect your BG, "controlling" diabetes is an impossible and demotivating target.
(I get very angry when I see books like this )

That's how I feel too.

I like to analyse. If I get an unexpected reading, I like to reflect on which of the many causes for that might be. That stops any risk of being brought down in mood by it. Once I've identified possible causes eg stress, mild infection, whatever, I feel I have control of it and it can't get the better of me.

Your anxiety is coming through loud and clear!
I recognise the same symptoms, what if and how a certain person thinks about or tells you!
Second guessing that everything is getting worse and it's your fault, you are feeling a failure, one thing after another, not happy with it all!
Yeah?
Try and stay positive about it all, you are regardless of results gonna get control and do it your way. Because in the end, you have to do it, or it will get worse!
You know what to do, a bit unsure certainly, but the great people on here will help you through it.
Take it easy on yourself, it won't be perfect, nothing is! You are doing the best you can with everything!
A day, a few days won't matter in the scheme of things, no need to test, and no one else matters what you do, only you do! Go to your calm place, chill out!
Having a day away from it, will do you good. And just do what you want, then come back when you can, sort out your health issues, explain about your anxiety, your feelings. Talk is good!

Take care of yourself.
I hope this helps.

You could always do a trial of freestyle Libre that way you just scan your phone. Bear in mind that they advise to finger prick if levels seem funky ;) Its a great way to see patterns with food etc. I have a love hate relationship with my Libre - we are estranged at the moment!
