Hi, my name is Charla Hall, I'm 20 years old and I've been a t1d for 15 years and it would be nice to find some people to talk to and to make some friends.
As we know, no one really understands what we go through other then ourselves and others with the same medical condition.
I've never really had people to talk with about this stuff, I was homeschooled for all of my life and stayed pretty much indoors so I never really made friends or fit in.. so this is definitely a first and it's crazy to see that I'm not as alone as I thought.

Hi @CharlaHall and welcome to the forums from an old T1. (61 and I've been T1 since I was 8, though as I had a T1 mum I never felt too lonely).

Welcome to the forum.

Yep, I was the “only D in the village” as a kid. The only time I saw others was at the appointments in the waiting room & they were all pretty much “shoe gazing.”
I have been in bands with other T1s & also chatted after shows with T1s in the crowd who came up after spotting my sensor.

Hi Charla.

Good to see you! I've had type 1 since I was 21. That was 23 years ago. So slightly different perspectives but we're all in it (muddle thru life) together.
