I have left my reader at home for my Libre2. Will there be a problem if I am away from it for more than 8 hours - seem to remember something about that? I have my fingerprick test kit

No problem that I have ever come across , just keep an eye on sugars using the “ old “ method the just use your reader when u get back to it but of a faff but it’s fine

Thank you - saves the family making a trip - and actually sometimes good to go back to a non- tech method! I survived pricking 10-15 times a day before and was probably more relaxed!!

There is but I believe that if you have started a sensor with the reader you have to continue with that sensor.

I found it's the other way around. If you start a sensor with the app, you can only use the app. But if you start with the reader, you can also scan with the app. I don't know if that's changed since Libre 2 became a rtCGM.

Whichever you activated the sensor with will be the one that gives alarms. If you activated with the reader and are using only the app for a period, keep an eye on your readings and don't expect to receive alarms.

I used the original sensors, and all that would happen if they weren't scanned with the reader within 8 hours is that some of the oldest data could be lost as the sensor memory had limited storage space.

I have no experience with later versions and alarms, etc though.
