Hi I’m Sandra. Have pre-diabetes and want to reverse this. Diagnosed about a year ago. Recent test shows still pre-diabetes. 42mm/mol. There may well be a particular forum for this but what I’d really like to know is which glucose monitor is accurate and painless (well as painless as a lancet can be!). I don’t want continuous monitor. Many thanks.

Hi @Billysmum and welcome to the forum.
You should really have started your own thread, however I will attempt to answer your question.
The majority of Blood Glucose meters are completely separate from the lancing device.
While they need their own brand test strips, how you produce the drop of blood to test is entirely up to you.
Lancing devices which have a range of settings and which use thinner gauge lancettes tend to be less painful.
It's usually less painful to take blood from the side of the finger pad rather than from the pad itself.

2 popular decent quality BG meters( on both this and on the 'blue forum') with cheaper test strips (the main cost) are:
Spirit Healthcare TEE2+
SD Gluco Navii

Hi thanks for responding. Sorry about hijacking a thread but had no idea how this works and have Fuchs Dystrophy waiting corneal grafts so Mrs Magoo im afraid! Yes have some basic knowledge of the way the monitors are separate entities with lancet, machine, strips etc.
Thanks for the suggestions.
