Hello
Please can someone advise me on what type of diabetes i have by looking at these blood tests. Its a gad positive test from a few years ago. done privately with nuffield in the uk.
This test determined i was type 1, gad positive. and i was put on Insulin with my old nhs diabetic specailist In derby.

However my new specialist, who has not seen this test result yet, wants a new batch of tests done as he thinks i am type 2.
but as i say - he has not seen this test result. Ive had to ask nuffield recently for this information. So is this blood test any proof of Type 1 diabetes and should i give this to him as proof or are the test results a indication of type 2? Any advice would be grateful.

A positive anti GAD result is usually diagnostic of having T1.
However, your own insulin production at the time was still within the normal range (C peptide), so likely you were still in your honeymoon period at the time.

I'd definitely show your new specialist those results.

Great thanks. So would you say its type 1?
Hi paulgrole, and welcome. There are very specific rules against attempting to diagnose on this forum. You've just asked @Antje77 to diagnose - she won't. I would definitely show those results to your consultant, though.
