What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all on a dull start here in Little America on pre-delayed-double bin and drip trip day. I’m just hydrating. No known fbg but 25 gms carb and 7 day average of 20.9 ought to give some measure of control. . Four grandchildren are here today because their schedules - the 11 year old normally has 8 clubs or activities weekly - means they don't see as much of each other now. All 7 grandchildren are scheduled to meet Saturday for a Top Secret meal to celebrate JKP's 70th. Six days early - her birthday is Priimrose day, Rip Dizzy. My A Level history teacher was a fan of Dizzy and Bizzy. @JohnEGreen are you ok to go with BG there? I am but many report feeling poorly. @Omar51 I too have white coat syndrome - my reading pre-drip today will be outrageous but at home all is good. I hope everyone has a good Thursday.
Good that the grandchildren do get to see each other despite their busy schedules. You can play Disraeli Gears by Cream on Primrose day.

Creative - using a thicker pen to do the one line squiggle...it was not so easy to do, and not sure it I like it...

A blue sky today. Garden is a mud bath.

Have your best kind of day.

Time for a cuppa and a nap....

Interesting thick line squiggle. Perhaps do a couple more. Enjoy your nap.

My pharmacy has recently installed one of these

I wonder how that is going to work for the elderly, blind, wheelchair users and such like - when they installed ATM machines outside banks in France not so long ago they had to employ staff to show the elderly how to use them. (you can still write a cheque at the supermarket in France - they love a bit of bureaucracy even if they don’t have a word for entrepreneur)

The reason doctor wants me to check BP is that I have been taking BP medication for several years but when in hospital they found my BP was constantly going low so they stopped my BP meds so doctor wants to see if I need to restart them or not fortunately I have never had white coat syndrome.

Good morning everyone on a sunny start to bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. A decent walk yesterday morning in the sunshine spoiled only by a couple of teenagers lighting a fire in the woods and running off when they noticed us approaching. Managed to stamp it out before it took hold. I wonder if it was the same pair who took two books from our local book exchange box and tore them up. What a delightful pair of hero’s - their parents must be so proud. They were in school uniform so I wonder if they were truanting as well. Ah well, a bit different from the usual boring stuff like picking wild garlic and attempting tree blossom haiku’s. Art bit - tenements at dusk. Hope your day is a good one. I ought to have some more koffy.

I take your point but I believe the pharmacy will still be open during normal working hours so those who can’t or don’t want to use it will be able to get their prescriptions in the normal way.

BG at 05.30 was 4.9. BP a bit better at 167/85. Not great but better than 200/100 which it was at one point on Tuesday. GP has asked me to check and record 3 times a day.

Had vegetables yesterday (enjoyed them but a bit disappointed that I had to give up on the total carnivore idea).

The builders have just arrived but I have no idea what they are doing - they seem to be working outside at the moment.

Today, of course, is leg day and proper shower day - Neil found a small heater that I put in the shower room for an hour before hand so that the room wasn't icy cold. It's also weigh in day. I've lost 2 kilos this week and my BG's have been low all week with a reduced amount of basal insulin and no bolus at all. That is a clear benefit of carnivore woe but if it's going to put my BP up, I have to modify it. I shouldn't congratulate myself but I am below 100 kg for the first time in years! It's not as if I really did anything to achieve it - just changed my woe.

GP wants to prescribe a new BP pill to add to al the others. I don't know what it is, but if it's a beta blocker than I shan't be taking it. After a really bad experience with a beta blocker some years ago, I told myself that I would never take beta blockers again.

That's if the prescription service is working and the prescription is there to be collected. Can the machine explain problems to the customer?

Hate it.
I cannot even use an ATM because I am not quick enough with my hands. And because my hands/fingers cannot press the buttons adequately for it to register. I have the same problem in using my iPad, and any device, because not every button that I press for the letters, comes up correctly, my fingers just not do it properly. Which is why I end up speaking for most of my posts... I have had this problem with my arthritis for more than 20 years now...

Thank you for sharing another one line squiggle drawing @gennepher.

Your subject yesterday was intriguing. Perhaps the lady has inner ear balance issues. Weak abdominal muscles and laxity of pelvic ligaments are other common causes. Whatever the reason for her unusual backwards leaning posture, her body has learnt to compensate. Isn't the human body an extraordinarily complex sum of organs and tissues that work together even when something's out of whack!

Today's drawing using a thicker pen must have been tricky to execute but, as always, you've captured the shape and movement. Did you sketch her first with a pencil, then draw the one-line-squiggle and rub out the pencil?

Hi @LivingLightly
Thank you.
That is an interesting assessment of the lady from yesterday and the reason for her rather backwards posture.
Yes, it is very extraordinary...

No, I do not sketch first with a pencil. I draw the one line squiggle straightaway. I usually sit in my car, where I'm parked to go to the shops a few minutes later, and watch people first of all. I usually have flask of tea with me so I might be drinking my tea. It is my little rest as well between shops. I often see the people twice and it's on the second time I see them I usually draw them because I've already seen them and their mannerisms with the way they've walked or walked past... sometimes people stand talking, which means I have longer to draw them.

Morning all on a beautifully clear blue skied start here in Little America. Not yet Tequilla sunrise but some better days promised this week. No known fbg to report. Yesterday was a loperamide, tea and a few water biscuits day here not quite a fast as some meds should be taken with food.. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art which because of the fence really appealed to me - not in a howzat kind of way. @Omar51 both your bg and English are very good. Enjoy your Wednesday if possible.

Thanks
