Prediabetes
Just heard back from GP blood test result mine is 49HBA1c. I have been emotionally fighting with my hidden problem for quite a few years. Been nervous, stress and cry. I started to go to the gym 4 times a week from February 2024 and only lost 3kg( this means I have done something really wrong) I would like to know how people lost so much weight and put it into remission. I also started to read Dr. Jason Fung's ''the diabetes code''. It scared me so much. However, there is some hope I can save myself from being in this dark hole.

Please share your story and I really need some supports to keep going.

Thank you

Hi

well, you've been here already and you know what to do and how to get your BG down - you did that very successfully before.

I don't see how losing 3kg via exercise since February shows you've done something wrong. I'd guess you've built a bit of muscle as well as losing fat, and muscle is heavier than fat. Problem with exercise alone is that, as the runners say, "you can't outrun a bad diet".

The Diabetic Code is a great book. It shows you very well what you can do to avoid the consequences of diabetes (also set out clearly). I found it very useful when I read it nearly five years ago. At that point my HbA1c was 50, I had a range of nasty and painful diabetic symptoms, and was at least 90lbs/40kg heavier. Almost all the symptoms have gone (some permanent damage remains) but I'm feeling better than I have for fifteen years. Last diabetic HbA1c was in January 2020.

I just want to underline that, in my opinion, regular, structured, and recorded testing alongside a low-carb diet is the key thing to taking control of your blood glucose level and reducing it (if you want to).

You have done it once. You can do it again
