Last December my ACR was 4, newly diagnosed as Type 2, HbA1c was 52, and I decided to follow a LCHF diet.
Came off the diet late February, as I was having surgery, but my HbA1c had dropped from 52 to 40.
Now its time to get back on the diet, my GP has run bloods and my HbA1c is up to 44. Fair enough, I can deal with that,
but he is also telling me my ACR is now up to 10 from 4, based on a urine test done yesterday.
His admin has booked a phone conversation with me for 15th July (today is the 4th), so I don't think it can be that serious, but it is worrying me.
I think he will want to put me on Ramipril, but I've had it before, for migraines, and it made the headaches worse, so I don't want to go back to it.
Has anyone had the same or similar problem?

Not sure if this strictly relevant, but I've only had a questionable ACR once a couple of years ago. The protocol in my case was to repeat the urine test a few weeks later. The second test was within normal range. I think ACR results can be sensitive to hydration levels (I am bad staying as hydrated as one should) so I am guessing that may have contributed to the first dodgy result. Perhaps ask for a repeat test before changing any treatments?

We don’t have an ACR test. We just Creatinine. The Albumin is a separate test and is not part of your routine panel. I’m now curious.

They have done a test for urine Albumin/Creatinine ratio. The ratio has come out at 10, should apparently be below 2.9

Sorry, I should clarify that. They tested Creatinine and also Albumin, separate tests, then came up with a ratio figure
