What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen

Blood sugars this morning were 5.2

Around about lunchtime I am due to have an echocardiogram, an ultrasound scan of my heart, what worries me, me’s and myself is lunchtime equates to nap time. The radiologist might have to wake me up during the scan.

Stay safe all, cream up and blacken one of your teeth and give everybody big smiles.

Just had a phone call from the Health Centre to get another blood test done ready for an appointment with the diabetes nurse. That appointment is not until 1st May. At the same time I arranged for a follow-up blood test to check my iron levels after the two infusions. That'll be next week, but the diabetes one isn't until the week after. I'll be running out of blood altogether soon! A friend tells me that my cheeks are pinker than before the iron infusions, so maybe there has been some effect, even if only cosmetic. No difference in the tiredness though, but maybe that's this blooming mitochondrial thing and nothing to do with iron at all.

I'm happy to say that Em is the only one of the grandchildren young enough to warrant an Easter egg, and she doesn't like chocolate these days. The great grandchildren aren't allowed chocolate eggs - they have fun colouring eggs and then hiding them from each other. Their mum is very strict about sweets. I would make chocolate treats a special occasion thing, but I'm too soft that way, as far as their mum is concerned. Don't suppose it'll do them any harm long term, unless once they are free to make their own choices, they go overboard with the sweet stuff.

The weather is fine today and, I'm told, even warm so the boys are on the roof fixing a new ventilator for my kitchen fan. It's been sitting in its box in the hall for weeks, waiting for the right moment to arrive when it can be installed and today is the day when both are feeling well enough (but feeling their age) and the weather has co-operated. Just hope Neil feels able to carry through and fix the kitchen end of the system so that I can use the extractor fan again. At least it will be a start.

Lovely artwork and yesterdays was a smasher as well

Good afternoon everyone,
5.8 this a.m. possibly due to nothing to do with me.
Cardio appointment came and went - my leaky aortic valve is still leaking and much the same as it has been for the past couple of years. So, same old same old. Some human body parts seem to have been made on a Friday afternoon in Cowley. Talk about rubbish designs. It’s only 100, 000 pumps a day so should last for ages. Must have a paddling pool valve.
Dinner out last night with a couple of the grandchildren.
Just hit the 10, 000 steps about 10 minutes ago so can now slob out and watch old episodes of Crossroads.
Hope your day is going in the right direction.

Is Jack Walker still running the pub in Crossroads? Also is Benny the bobble hat still a window cleaner with his wife, the hair?

Sorry to read about the aortic valve, 10 000 paces must mean things are liveable, I hope.

At least it isn't getting any worse over the last year or so. That's something to be glad about. 10,000 steps is pretty good going and deserves time slobbing out. Not so sure about the choice of viewing, still maybe your brain needs to slob out as well. I do that sometimes - decide to watch something not worth the effort just to give the brain a break from thinking too much. I usually go to sleep for the duration and only wake up when the final music starts up.

Good Happy national bin day fellow posters and painters.

It’s good to see @jjraak a fellow greaser ( motorcyclist ) commenting again, I hope all is well.

Every day is a good day, but some days have unpleasant components, like today. Mrs J has commanded that a beard trim and disaster darlings, disaster a haircut. What wrong with shoulder length grey hair on an old obese intermittent greaser?

Stay safe all and only bark at the postman, no biting….

Totally agree with some body parts being made on a friday afternoon:) I must remember that one as an explanation for general enquiries I don't fancy replying to!
