6.9 this morning.
A really good day today. We hired Bushy Tails dog park near Swanton Morley this morning. It was brilliant - Bonnie was so good. It was the first time she had been off the lead when out and about and she just trotted along by our side as we walked around the field.

She loved climbing up the huge mound, playing in the sandpit and walking along the balance board. She was scared of the tunnels though. She was brilliant when we did the recall training. Not bad for a 5 month old puppy.

Then off to Bawdeswell Garden centre for a coffee.

Good morning everyone on a damp squib of a start here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.9 this a.m.
Much protesting from several body parts about even the slightest movement so wander up and down the garden to loosen up.
Totting up yesterday on what my Fitbit recorded:
Walking round the house of course
Walk down to catch a bus
Alight bus and walk to the rendezvous with the full route walkers
Walk along the cliff tops on the Cleveland Way
See that there is a long queue for the funicular so, up the steps to the upper prom.
Walk through town and up to Cricket Club
Just over 9 miles.
A good day had by all. The sun shone and a fair breeze from the sea.
Art bit - only time for a quick sketch so there we are.
Hope you all have a fine day. I am going to make Koffy.
Love the art bit @dunelm
And all the beautiful photographs

I went out this morning to collect my skillet, which had been stored under the shop counter and risked getting damaged. Although I prefer going out early, it was Sunday, stuff opens later and everything was packed when I got there. Car parking spaces were all taken up, and it was tons busier than I’d usually choose.

Since I was already out (for the skillet)I decided to do a bit of shopping, I already had a list in my head. What I really wanted was to shop with cash in hand. Unfortunately, despite several attempts this past week, I still haven’t managed to get cash. I went to Iceland to get cash back, but she said she had none. The High Street banks have gone, my local post office is gone, and the new one’s (when I find exactly where it is) opening times are unclear or conflicting online. I’ll have to go in person on Tuesday to check.

By the time I got home, I was utterly exhausted. I unpacked, fed the cats (while a very determined magpie tried to steal scraps), and then unintentionally slept for over six hours straight. I’ve done no housework or tidying today.

Creative is a flower painting...done with my Kuretake brush pens...

Night night

Have a good sleep...

A hug for not being able to get cash but a winner for that wonderful Sumi flower painting.

Good morning everyone on this, so far, tax free bank holiday Monday.
5.7 this a.m.
Strange things that young people do these days - a gender reveal event? Basically a load of blue and pink balloons, a scan photo in a sealed envelope and a buffet. So, our eldest grand daughter is expecting (flip coin) - a boy. Due in September. When I told my mother she said, “how odd, you can save loads of money by just waiting for an announcement from the midwife”.
Art bit - watercolour sketch of the woods.
Hope your bank holiday does not involve sitting in a traffic jam - jam is not good for you! I’m going to make koffy.

Three Dandelions

I took this photo yesterday. Just three dandelions, quietly glowing yellow in the grass.

I love dandelions, bright, cheerful, not just weeds.

Today is a quiet day...no people...a reprieve from the world.... I have no intention to go out into traffic jams today..... the only jam I will be experiencing will be some home-made plum jam on a crumpet...

The sun is out, and the garden is calling, and maybe a library book

Take care

Thank you @gennepher - my mother usually has a good take on that sort of stuff.
Probably gets if from my granny: An aunt of mine lost her husband and on remarrying found that her husband was an alcoholic. She told my granny that he drank a bottle of scotch each day and what could she do about it.
My granny said to give him two bottles a day and leave a bar of wet soap on the top of the stairs.

Lovely dandelions. We have the young leaves in salads when we are in France. Which is fine. The older leaves get cooked like kale - not a fan and too much results in living in the bathroom!

12.1 at 04.30 today. Still in the 12's. Trouble is, I can't remember if I took my basal insulin this morning. I should have done, but I don't remember doing it. If I didn't, it might help explain the failure to drop down to a more reasonable level, but in case I did, I can't now take a dose. Just have to get by on bolus doses today.

Bright sunshine and a light breeze here today. Still not very warm, but you can't have everything.

Em came yesterday for her first day of "work" cleaning my floors. Not quite as slick as my previous cleaner, but not a bad job at all. She said she found it easier than she expected. She said she would be happy to do it for nothing but I insisted that it is a weekend job for her and she will be paid for it. I wouldn't exploit my previous cleaner so I certainly shan't exploit my grand daughter.

Here's another example of total incompetence by an organisation and inability of other organisations to set it right.

Thank you very much @dunelm

Some dandelion leaves I do not like the taste of, but some I do... and those that I do I move them over to pots that are high up away from the waterings of badgers and foxes... and the following year I will eat the new leaves....

Here's another example of total incompetence by an organisation and inability of other organisations to set it right.

I had something like that in the last place I lived @Annb
All my standing orders/direct debits got cancelled one by one, water, electric, gas, accounts were shut down, the council said I was no longer living at my house and there was a lot more which I can't remember now and I do not want to remember. It took me more than four months to right most of it, but then it started all over again and things were getting cancelled again. I was totally demented and I had no idea how or why this was happening. It got me in a lot of bother. I was terrified every time a letter came through my front door.

I got letters from Electric and Waterboard that they were going to cut supplies off to the house seeing no money was being paid..

The CAB at that time near me, got involved in helping me and were very helpful and my daughter had to keep phoning again and again to the organisations involved, and I went to various offices and stuff which you could do then. It wasn't the bank cancelling stuff. It was the organisations themselves cancelling stuff. Apparently, somebody was telephoning them all and cancelling everything, but I was unable to find out who was telephoning them all. I asked who was ringing them, and what authority they gave to have the right and access to do all this cancelling and apparently saying I was not living there any longer, but they all said they didn't know or it wasn't recorded...

It was a total nightmare.

It is not something you want to experience however it happens because you are powerless to do anything about it...and as I could not use the telephone with being deaf, I physically went to all the offices etc...

And that poor woman in Stornaway.
