Good morning everyone on a much cooler start to the day than lately here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.8 this a.m.
It’s our annual family weekend where we get together and raise some funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This year is close to home. It’s getting quite expensive booking a self catering venue for 35+ people nowadays. So, a 12 mile walk up the coast, finishing at our local cricket club for cups of tea and cucumber sandwiches (yeh, right). Unfortunately, and despite several protestations by the chimp inside my head, I am just walking the last 3.5 miles. Mrs Miggins is doing the whole thing.
Art bit - still using up scraps of paper and what paint is in the pallet. Not quite what I wanted but there it is.
Hope your day treats you well. I have already had to take pain relief this morning to appease several complaints and informed said complainants that it will be a grand day so just knock it off. Best make a delicious mug of koffy and then get myself ready.

Good morning all from a sunny start to the day the BCP somewhat oddly commemorates as The Invention of the Cross. Actually, it commemorates the finding of the True Cross by St Helena the mother of Constantine not the invention of that barbarous method of execution. Moving on, do people still dance around the Maypole? I have a wonderful photo of my dad and uncle both dressed rather like Andy Pandy for the Mayday parade sometime in the late 1930s. @dunelm hug for the pain and definitely tell that chimp to do one. Enjoy the last of the current mild weather if at all possible.

Yesterday was a bit of a day as I had been having quite a bit of pain in my legs due to protracted claudication, I decided to go to the doctors and ask for stronger pain killers as. I had been using over the counter co-codamol she thought though that there might be a small risk of a blood clot so so gave me a letter and sent me off to A and E where I spent an hour or so waiting until taken through to the day care centre the procedure then was to have a blood sample taken this being taken to a lab and the result being brought back in two hours then you see a doctor then you would come back in a day or two for a scan. When the blood test result came back two or so hours later the doctor said that she thought if there was a blood clot then my warfarin had not been working so they wanted to take me off warfarin and have me take injectables indefinitely and she went off to arrange a script for that then when she returned told me all changed but to carry on with warfarin and as there was little swelling in my leg that a scan is not required so I asked about pain relief and she said sure and gave me a script for higher strength co-codamol which is all I had asked the doctor for in the first place so I feel I had my whole day wasted and of course by the time we left the chemists was shut so had to wait till this morning to get the prescription filled after a sleepless night due to the constant pain have now taken the pain relief so things easing up think I shall take things easy today.

A hug for the convoluted route to getting the co-codamol but hopefully now you have some they work well. Rest sounds like the best idea for you today. Take care.

Too hot for me still...

I've got a response from the Co-op bank on all their shenanigans recently, when I was unable to contact them because I didn't have an online account with them, and my missing statements, et cetera et cetera. Their response is extremely unsatisfactory in many ways. They will only accept a voice call from the account holder themselves when there are some problems like this. They don't accept TextRelay for problems like this because of security of a third party, despite all the claims they make on their site for helping deaf people. The fact that the account holder is deaf and is unable to make a voice call due to hearing problems, cuts no ice with them. They say that is the law, a voice call is needed for security.

They suggest my daughter in Australia fills in a PDF so that she takes over my affairs and contacts them on my behalf. I am deaf, not incompetent. When I read what my daughter was meant to fill in on this PDF about her financial affairs about her job about her employer about her tax and details, length of time she had worked, and much more details, there is no way I would even allow my daughter to fill in this form.

And so I am taking this further now...

More time wasting on bureaucracy....

When I first moved here in early 2000's, there was no email for hospitals or doctors, et cetera. It was all telephone calls and I and other deaf people wasn't able to use them. So with .the aid of my advocate we campaigned with people and finally they put an email contact on all Hospital forms for deaf people. Brilliant, I thought. Until I came to use them and they had taken them off all the hospital forms and appointments and there was no way for me to contact anyone in the nhs again as regards to NHS and medical stuff.

A report has just been published about lack of accessibility in healthcare for deaf people in Wales. Nothing ever changes.

My kaleidoscope for today...my creative, is from the rosemary plant photo of yesterday.

ALT text description (this is for blind or partial sighted people and goes within the photo on some sites where I can post...)
"A kaleidoscopic pattern created from a close-up photo of a rosemary plant in bloom. Delicate, pale purple flowers with thread-like petals radiate from vivid green stems, arranged in symmetrical triangular shapes that repeat across the image. In the background, earthy browns and shadowy purples form a subtle starburst pattern, giving the whole image a layered, almost stained-glass effect. The green stems form heart-like and arrowhead shapes, adding a geometric rhythm to the natural elements."

I hope your day works out for you. I just sat on inside of the very warm side of the window and slept....and slept....

The hug was for all those continuing problems caused by unthinking people. I gather the co-op has been having a lot of trouble due to a cyber attack - don't know if it affects the Co-op bank though. I don't know what can be done about people un-fixing things which you've managed to get fixed. It's just so frustrating - and I'm not even on the receiving end of it.

Thanks @Annb
The official line according to their site, is it "did not include members' passwords, bank or credit card details".
But actually, in the co op bank, the bank woman was unable to access any details that I had given them years ago, that I had gone into Chester when the branch was there, to give them details, because I had them all written down on an envelope which I took in with me...

So I am afraid I don't wholly believe when they say that bank or credit card details were not affected... and when I got home, my new account locked me out until the next day because the site was down....

It's very frustrating when you have put a lot of effort in and with the aid of an advocate to change things and as soon as you've left the premises they just put it back to what it was before, and this has happened quite a few times to me in different things.

My personal experience says on the whole it is a waste of time trying to put time and effort into changing things for the better. You might as well just stay at home and read a book than do all that effort..
However, it doesn't stop me trying even though I know what the ultimate outcome might be...

Good morning everyone on a damp squib of a start here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.9 this a.m.
Much protesting from several body parts about even the slightest movement so wander up and down the garden to loosen up.
Totting up yesterday on what my Fitbit recorded:
Walking round the house of course
Walk down to catch a bus
Alight bus and walk to the rendezvous with the full route walkers
Walk along the cliff tops on the Cleveland Way
See that there is a long queue for the funicular so, up the steps to the upper prom.
Walk through town and up to Cricket Club
Just over 9 miles.
A good day had by all. The sun shone and a fair breeze from the sea.
Art bit - only time for a quick sketch so there we are.
Hope you all have a fine day. I am going to make Koffy.
