I’m stable (and in a good place) in terms of weight, bp and cholesterol. HbA1c was still ok last time it was done, and I must be due another one soon. Close monitoring of post meal blood sugar shows that it takes me about three to four hours to recover from carbs in a meal, rather than the two hours it should be, but I can reduce that by going for a brisk walk immediately after food.
My conclusion is that the insulin resistance remains an issue, but better lifestyle choices mean I am, at present, controlling blood sugar well enough to produce a safe enough average. Now I’m outside the danger zone of pre-diabetes, no-one is much interested.
