Hi All, i was wondering whether others have noticed issues with Libre2 sensors since the current "heatwave" begun. The sensor is known to go awry in temps warmer than 40 deg C, but my home is nowhere near that hot and i am staying well hydrated all the time (2 reasons, according to the manufacturers, when readings may not be accurate in warm weather). I've had false alarms when i've not been low, and no alarms when i have gone low. Thankfully i still "feel" hypos coming on so am able to cope - but i'm having to double-check with finger pricks all the time these days.

Libre2 going beserk in warm weather?

I haven't noticed any differences with Libre in warm weather, and I've been using them for eight years.
If this happened with only one sensor it might just be a dodgy sensor?

I was sitting in full sunshine today and it came up with a warning that the sensor was too hot but that was it , the accuracy didn't seem to change and the warning disappeared when I went in the shade .

I had a “too hot “ warning last year whilst in a high temp. But I was in the shade just weeding a path..
I’ve had erratic readings if the sensor is on my arm if hand sawing timber for the duration of the activity, but this has happened during winter. Put it down to a tight base layer thermal long sleeve? (Think of it as a waking pressure low. Then a rebound high..?)
Lately I’ve been roasting on some outdoor jobs & a truck cab with no AC. & It’s been fine.
Still using the L2 inspite of being prescribed the plus version & issued the 2.

I have had the same problem. Low alarm went off four times last night. I checked with blood stick the first time, but that registered 5.6. I ignored the others as I felt fine. My libre seems quite often to be reading up to 2 m/mol. This is the second sensor I have had doing this. I understand about the time lag behind a blood sample, but this is too inaccurate. I phoned the Abbotts helpline. They were very helpful and requested a lot of information from the setting of the libre. They are sending out two new sensors. As I have to pay myself, this is a relief, BUT I’m feeling I may have to return to full time finger pricking just for the reassurance of accuracy.
Please ring them and explain. The more information they have re faults, the better it will be for all of us….eventually.

How are you getting on with Libre now it has cooled down?
No change, although the weather has cooled down. This means that the weather didn't necessarily have anything to do with the probs. But i have noticed other threads here raising the issue of Libre2+ inaccuracies. I certainly am finding Libre2+ way more unreliable than Libre2. I've spoken to Abbot, not just a customer adviser, but also a nurse. Also spoke to my hospital care team. There was an implication, not mentioned outright, that it was the 2+ version of Libre that was proving problematic. The outcome being that i'm using the old finger-pricking method almost daily now.

Was the issue you had initially a month ago with the libre 2 or the newer Libre 2 plus?
A little confused as to the title.? Appreciate look & boxed similar to the original Libre one…
Not sure myself when i was changed over to Libre2+, so i can't say for sure. What i know is the inaccuracies didn't stop, so i had to keep exploring what was causing them. As this is a relatively recent development with my sensors, it could quite possibly be down to the Libre2+ version only.

The boxes for the 2 & 2+ look very similar at a glance?
Do you have a last box in the trash for reference?
What is the name of the sensor on your repeat prescription?
To be fair I’ve just started my last Libre 2. Though I’ve been prescribed the plus for the last 6 months?
My new prescription has the plus’es in the bag..
Indeed, that's why i didn't pay too much attention when i noticed the box had a + sign on it. I only thought about it when i started getting an unusual amount of low-glucose readings, and double-checking my results with finger pricks, which 95% of the time showed i wasn't having hypos after all. My first thoughts were that the warmer weather was affecting the sensor, but now i know that's not the case.
To be clear, i've been on Libre for quite a few years and didn't notice any differences between the original Libre and the Libre2. But there's something about Libre2+ readings for some reason.

After nearly 5 decades I still know a hypo when I feel one.
The libre for me takes the “edge” off not avoid potential lows?
For me. There is lag on the sensor when I do actually go low. The sensor will say I’m hypo for at least 45 minutes whilst my brain & meter says I’m good after 20 minutes..
But if or when I do drop. I get a 10 or 15 minutes heads up of a potential.
When I first started using the Libre I thought “BS” when it hit low.. 10 minutes later I felt it & tested..
