Urgent Poops / BMs (Bowel Movements)

Hi there @Ulebrun . That is very unpleasant for you. Is this a recent thing or has it been going on for sometime ? Could it be related to any medications or something you are eating with those trigger drinks.
How quickly do you feel the need to go, is it minutes, hours ? And is it just carbonated drinks and some types of alcohol, beer? spirits with mixers? or are there other drinks and foods you react to? Are the drinks diet? Obviously forum rules prevent us from diagnosing, so I will talk about my experiences with food intolerances. I'm not suggesting it is a food intolerance , but my intolerances can act on my digestion within hours. I can suffer significant digestive issues with certain foods like gluten (I have coeliac) I'm lactose intolerant, and I'm very iffy with fats. I cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners of any kind. All of those foods can cause me a number of issues including diarrhea. I can get stomach cramps very quickly with gluten. Lactose and fats cause cramps, nausea and diarrhea with IBS symptoms. Artificial sweeteners , IBS. Food intolerances can start at anytime, for whatever reason.

You are reacting to something and there may be other causes. You need to speak to your doctor.
 
I had similar issues with tonic water and flavoured tonic water as well as flavoured water. After a while I thought they all contain sucralose which I put down to the problem and stopped anything with that in (I i not drink alcoholic drinks or the 0 alcohol equiv ((I don't like the taste)) sparking water does not bother me (just water and CO2)

I have this issue occasionally and I believe (possibly incorrectly) that in my case it is prompted by overdoing acidic drinks such as wine, and especially sparkling wine. Herbal tea seems to help?
 
Diagnosed 9 years.For the past at least 5 years I have had days when I have urgent loose poos which occur after large quantities of liquid intake particularly carbonated drinks even tonic water. And then normal poos in same 24 hours.I am still on Metformin but been put on Dapagliflozin.Anyone elsewhere ?
