High numbers

I don’t want to trouble anyone - is this normal to wait this long for a call back??
The reason I asked if anyone is with you is , without wishing to scare you, your Blood Glucose is extremely high, and you have not been able to test for ketones. You could very suddenly become too disorientated to care for yourself .
You could be in danger of ketoacidosis..
NHS 111 generally aim to call back within 30 minutes. They haven’t yet, so would be wise to get someone to keep you company and help if you need it.

with the link i posted earlier regarding dka. i personally would not be waiting much longer, especially if you dont wish to/ or can not call a friend to pop over to be able help keep eye on you should further assistance be required.

Call 999 or go to A&E if:
you do not know your ketone levels but have symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis, such as feeling thirsty and needing to pee more often, feeling sleepy or confused, and breath that smells fruity (like pear drop sweets or nail polish remover)
you have symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis and have not been diagnosed with diabetes
.

Numbers now 21.5 - so slowly moving - still drinking lots of water but do you think I’d be ok to have a cup of tea?

Great news moving in the right direction.

No issue with that tea.

So i feel it’s best to come to the conclusion I’m not getting a call back
If it doesn’t get any lower than 20 in the next hour I will give more insulin - just don’t want to suddenly drop low
When did you give the correction dose?

What insulin are you using?

if rises would be calling 999 they are given higher priority than 111 depending on what the call handler put down in notes.

How was the extra dosage given earlier ? if with a pen, the pump wont know about that would seek medical advice for what to do in regards pump settings.

Well now having a second cuppa, I’m so blinking cold
Have you heard from 111 yet? I think if you haven’t it’s time to call them back, tell them how unwell you are feeling - if you can get someone to come and sit with you even for a short while. I think you can see we are all concerned for you - do you have someone who can take you to A&E or a walk in centre?
