Hello, my name is andy, im 68 yo man. I was diagnosed with type 2 18 years ago, for the last couple of months i just cant get my glucose levels to below 13, i just tested and it reads 22.3 i feel shaky most of the time. I take metformin twice daily and inject with mounjaro once a week ( just had 2nd injection of low dose 2.5 mg after being on trulicity 3.5 mg) any suggestions as to how i can get it down?

Hi Andy and welcome to the forums.

It's an established fact that the biggest single influence on our blood glucose levels is the carbohydrate - both starches and sugars - that we eat. While both mounjaro and metforin can affect blood glucose levels, it seems from what you're saying that this isn't enough. It might help people to advise you if you could give us some idea of what sort of things you eat in a typical day.

Hi, i rarely eat breakfast, just a few cups of strong coffee 1 sugar, i weigh 100 kilos i cant excersize because of painful neuropathy in both feet. I do eat bread and spuds, maybe i should cut down. My HbA1c level was 94 mmol/mol

It's worth thinking about. I was able to reduce both my blood glucose (within four months) and my weight (over three years) just through low carb way of eating, exercise wasn't any part of it. No medication. I stopped eating bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruit, all sugar, that sort of thing. I don't eat breakfast either.

Me too. As a recent stroke sufferer, I can't exercise. Like KennyA, I changed my diet by cutting out carbs and sugars, lost loads of weight without starving or trying to, got my blood glucose into the normal range, all effoprtless. Now I am taking some meds for which I have to eat some carbs, but still not a lot, and find I can tolerate a few. Give it a whirl - it's so easy.
