What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.4 at 08:00 this morning (6.0 on the Dexcom).

The Dexcom seems to have settled down after having had it on for a few days and having done a couple of calibrations. Since I've had it on my finger prick readings (which I typically do twice a day) have averaged 6.2, with the Dexcom readings taken at the same time averaging 6.1.

5.3 this morning.
Have just received course notes for a 2 day course I am doing during half term. There is a lot of complex theory on movement.that they have asked us to go through prior to the course so we can look at how to put it into action on the course.

Only 120 pages. Have started it this afternoon. It is actually quite interesting

5.1 this morning.

Filling fell out of one of my teeth. Luckily my dentist in Norwich has a dentist who deals with issues like that and I got an appointment straight away. I now have a temporary filling to tide me over until I can see my designated dentist who will decide if I need a crown or a permanent filling.

Am enjoying the lovely sunshine

6.5 at 02.40 today.

A bit on the high side now after fruit for breakfast, but it should drop soon.

Covid jab today at lunch time. That means no diuretics today - taking them means I have to stay at home. If I wait an take them when I come home, I wouldn't get to sleep tonight at all. No worries. I'll leave them until Monday - I am going out tomorrow as well. This time I am taking a thick sponge cushion with me - last time I went to this particular place I asked for a dining chair to sit on because the armchairs were too low and I really struggled to get up (had to be lifted - undignified). The dining chair was very uncomfortable and I suffered for it! So - my own cushion so I can sit in the armchair and manage to get up all by myself. I hope nobody is offended. Too bad if they are, I'm afraid.

Glad you were able to access dental treatment.
I was really lucky to get it sorted so quickly.
The strange thing was that my daughter also had a back tooth filling fall out on Friday. it is a strange coincidence, especially as the morning I slipped on black ice in the winter she also slipped on black ice at virtually the same time.

Good morning everyone from a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.7 this a.m.
Rail replacement bus from York yesterday - work going on further north between there and Darlington. Pretty good, only about 20 minutes added to what is usually a five and a half hour journey time for that trip. And anyhow, it’s a waste of energy thinking about things outside of your control.
My dentist has reluctantly decided to go private. Oh well -I expect that we will be signing up to a patient plan or some such.
Another bright and sunny day it seems - a walk down through the woods to keep cool then. A salad for dinner perhaps and then we can think we are still in our salad days - oh, stop it Cleopatra.
Such nonsense, best make some koffy.

5.2 this morning.
A very lazy day today, although I have done some admin. I did feel a bit guilty though as Mr K was very busy.

The house is cooling down nicely now.

Have just taken bs this evening and it is 5.2. Very surprising as today is my special treat day. My treat was banoffee pie. Very delicious. It is interesting that knowing that I have a special treat on a Sunday is really keeping me 'on the straight and narrow' for the rest of the week.

7.6 at 02.45 today. Up a bit now.

Weather forecast says 40% chance of rain today. Actually, it is raining, so I make that 100% chance. I'm seeing news that temperatures in the south are expected to exceed 32ºC. Here, the maximum is supposed to be 15ºC but with the wind it should feel like about 11ºC. No sun. Here, a few miles from Stornoway, I am wearing vest, heavy jumper and a shawl and am just about comfortable. Jealous? Moi?

Very jealous @Annb

Good afternoon all,
Blood sugars were 7.1
Busy old Morening here, we nipped in the centre of Reading bought some stuff then into the local Tesco’s, where surprise upon surprise Mrs J banished me, me’s and myself to the koffy shop.

Now here’s the kicker upon getting back to Tilehurst Towers we found that we had bought the wrong thing in Reading, we should have checked before we paid, we were rushing to get back to car park before we needed to take out a mortgage just to pay the car park fees.

Now it is time for my afternoon nap. zzzzzzzz

5.2 this morning.

The heap of papers on my desk are no more. All dealt with.
Have also done lots of other admin.

Our friend friend who is a builder sorted the ceiling that was damaged by the leaking boiler today and put more shelves in our airing cupboard. Our cleaner also came in today and cleaned the house. A very productive day for a bank holiday Monday.

Good morning everyone on what bodes to be another scorchio here in the dark and dangerous north. I learned when working in East Africa to open windows and doors facing the sun and to then shut all the shades. So we do that. Back of the house in the morning, front of the house in the afternoon. Some folk put reflective items on the outside of windows - tin foil perhaps - does it work? No idea but we don’t do that as it blocks the rays from the aliens ‍.

Anyhow, 5.6 this morning - surprising.

We, Mrs Miggins and I have been treating our double gates at the house end of the drive to a triple coating of wood stain varnish - just the third coat to apply now and allegedly good for another ten years if it just does what it says on the tin.

I think it’s a walk through the woods today to keep cool - and our Tilley hats for when we get down to the beach.

Hope everyone is keeping cool. Tarmac is blistering underfoot, especially if you are a dog.

Koffy - best make some koffy.
