I too had this view till I went to university (living away from home). Suddenly people were all offering me a cup of coffee as a drink when socialising (and this was cheap instant coffee from a jar). I acquired the taste just to fit in. I'm glad I'm not 20 years older or I would have started smoking for the same reason. (But my mother was addicted to smoking, and continually struggled and failed to quit, so I was never tempted to start.)Bcz I had a hell of a night, I wake up six am and decide to make myself a cup of coffee… I instantly spit it out because it’s disgusting and honestly wonder what adults see in it?
Re the blood sugar, sometimes it happens to me too. Sometimes doing a set change helps, but sometimes I just have to do a correction dose and never really know what happened. (Though often it's because I've underdosed my carbs and once my bg goes high my pump can't cope because I become much more insulin resistant.)
Virtual hugs from me.
