Seen the below on another forum, and was quite shocked tbh.

Brett a relative newcomer on 300 grams of carb a day, and lot’s of medication, and knows all the answers

What lots of meds am I on? I only take 1 lot of meds which is insulin.
It also states I eat 300 carbs a day, but fails to mention I'm a 6ft 3 active male still trying to build muscle I lost from diagnosis.

“If it works for you great, would disagree that if you eat carbs, take medication to control spikes maintain good control, have regular exercise then its wrong. Just cause it works for you does not mean its the only way which is how it is it is coming across

The above is also what I had written on a previous thread here and got the further comment of

As for the Brett's of this world, if you think a high carb diet and ramming high BG numbers down with lots of medication is the way to go, I recommend a pre-paid funeral plan with the COOP.

Have never stated the above. Have never advised anyone to high carb! Simply my opinion for my control is I don't low carb. Take into account my age, weight activity levels and do I then high carb or simply eat what my body requires and medicate appropriately, more insulin if im not busy, less insulin if I am busy.

Would like to add again, I have no other health issues, and since starting on insulin have actually reversed the slight eye damage I had that was spotted on my very first eye check. 2 years on feel healthier than ever, after alot of ups and downs whilst during out correct basal/bolus ratios and learning what works for me.

Sorry, just needed to put down my thoughts.

I've seen that blog. It seems like a disgruntled banned member. I don't know how people have so much time on their hands to get so worked up and angry!

I see that as a blatant personal attack. Have you reported it as such to see what the attitude of the mods is. I find it strange that your reply has disappeared but the attack on you got posted.

Well, at least someone is thinking about you this Christmas.

Lol, no not reported it yo their mods, probably one of then that posted it lol. Yep, nice to be thought of this time of year :)
About 10 mins after I commented here, my reply appeared, me thinks we are being spied on

Oh dear! Can't say I'm really surprised tho, this is an open forum. In my short time here I have noticed several spurious so called "new members", who join, pick a controversial topic, wind everyone up and disappear. I spent several years on the old MSN sites where mischief makers were rife. Shame it's happening here.

They seem to forget that you are T1 Brett and have no option but to use insulin, one of of these idiots keeps repeating that I am on lots of meds when I am only taking 2 Metformin a day, the same as he is......you just cant fix stupid can you :banghead:

Ive had 5 years of these idiots misquoting and abusing me, they are just very twisted people who cant accept that not everyone wants to follow their advice. And to call everyone who is well controlled but not following a lchf diet a liar just shows their insecurity.

Let them say what they like and play their childish games, I actually feel rather sorry for them TBH having to live their lives in fear with such a vicious little circle of friends.

Hi Brett,

Just ignore it. That particular blog is very destructive. It's a shame because it is a good low-carb resource with some very knowledgeable people writing some excellent articles, but the personal attacks spoil it as far as I'm concerned. Personal attacks are unacceptable no matter how much you disagree with someone's point of view.

i was a little dissapointed not to have been abused myself :( so if could find your way through to giving me some stick eddie id appreciate it, im bummed im not famous enough to make an appearence :(

That's quite right luceeloo!!!

If it's who I think it is they are indeed a banned ex-member who was banned around 5 years ago along with a few others, they couldn't (and still can't by the sounds of the OP's post) accept that not everyone on here doesn't low-carbs or even wants too, therefore they resorted to personal attacks and were consequently banned.

Since this time the main culprit has been banned from numerous forums for abusing forum rules and attacking members who didn't agree with his views. A few years back a few members from this forum set-up their own low-carb forum which was a great resource for those who LCHF, unfortunately this character was allowed to join and eventually he brought the forum to its knees, the site-owner had had enough at this point and pulled the plug and the forum was no-more.

Over the years he has repeatedly attacked the good members of this forum together with the Site-owners, Admin and Forum Mods, all are well aware of his activities and take a very dim view of the blog in question, what annoys him more than anything is that the forum is still here and continues to grow and most of the members he has attacked over these years are still posting to this day
:)

My word of advise is just to ignore such people and don't give them the satisfaction of reading what they write or respond for that matter, they'll always be bitter and spiteful people in all walks of life and these sort of people are best left at arms length, everyone here know that the vast majority of low-carbers don't conduct themselves in this manner and they are peaceful easy-going people willing to accept that everyone is different when it comes to diabetes management.

Blimey! I'm glad I haven't come across the forum in question - sounds a bit nasty to me.

Although I low carb I accept it isn't for everyone and everyone has to do what works for them. There's certainly no need to be nasty!!
