I am new to using Byetta, having a few issues, especially in relation to taking other medications. Also some side affects I feel seem to be associated with Byetta i.e; sleepiness, which isn't mentioned in any of the literature as a side effect. I just wondered if anyone has some experience of using this and I would really welcome any advice or tips.

well sleeping i get more strange dreams now i put it down to the insulin, diabetes uk is the best for info, theres plenty of booklets around best place to get them your local hospital diabetes clinic .

Thanks spaceman, Byetta, is a fairly new thing, I think, it's not insulin, I'm not sure what it is, the booklet suggests that you inject before your morning meal or within 60 minutes before your first main meal, it affects your digestive system, and warns about taking in conjunction with other (non diabetic) meds as it could slow down the up take of these. Unfortunately, I've got the only booklet/pack, and the information on line is the same as the pack. I've got an appointment with a diabetic consultant in a couple of weeks so I think I'll just sleep my way(lol) through till then and see what she says, maybe the sleepiness will pass as my body adjusts to the stuff. As for strange dreams not got them but I was once on another med that did that to me, it's strange how some of them can affect you, many thanks for your advice though it is appreciated!

Hi, i was on Byetta up until about 2 weeks ago. I didn't have any side effects, it suppressed my appetite for a while and I lost a bit of weight.

Hi I have been taking buyetta for nearly 5years.what I can advise is make sure you eat something before you lose your wife and children.if you take buyetta after you have eaten.if you eat just before you will be sick and then gain weight.very unpleasant.
