Hi all new here so be gentle :P

How important is this to do everyday?

Recently bought a accu chek nano and tested every day for a week and the readings where always between 8 - 13mmol/l, But i have not tested for about 2 weeks now as money is tight :( but recently i have been feeling terrible dizzy, light headed, sickness and i am forever tired

I have an appointment to see my GP on friday about my recent HbC1 test (can't remember my last reading)
 
Deac can you give more info please type of diabetes when diagnosed and what treatment.
Those readigs were to high but if you pile on info folks here can guide you better

It is Type 2 and diagnosed way back in October of last year currently on 1500mg of Metformin daily i should add i was not keeping up to date with my tablets it is only in the last 2 weeks i have been taking them without missing a dose i was kind of in denial about the whole thing

Deac, what time of day did you test? If it was first thing in the morning (before breakfast) then your readings are a bit high. I'd say if you test only once a day then early morning is best, and once you start trying out a specific diabetes diet then also test just before and one or two hours after eating each suspect food.

Take your readings record to the GP to s/he can see you are taking your condition seriously and taking charge of your own health. It's also worth asking for the GP practice to supply you with a meter: they're reluctant to do it, but then you'd get strips on prescription.

If you buy your strips approach the manufactura direct to buy strips a lot cheaper.

What is a typical menu for you through the day?
