Honey Substitute

Agave Nectar is good as a honey substitute it doesn't raise BS but it does not actually say you can cook with it. I love it on berry fruits with cream or plain greek yogurt .If you are looking for a natural sweetner to cook with then Stevia is good but not quite the same taste as honey would give you.I use both of these as I don't like artificial sweetners

Thommo, arent you out of your "comfort zone" I thought brown bears would be more "au fait"with honey, not polar bears<G>

I want to make some Ginger Biscuits but I don't really want to put 4 tablespoons of honey in them. Does anyone have any suggestions? This is the recipe http://www.sugarfreerecipes.co.uk/spicy-sugar-free-biscuits.html

As Thommo suggested, xylitol works well (although never given the resulting biscuits to pets - it can't be horribly toxic to them). I found it to be the best substitute in baking, as there's no real change in texture of the cake or biscuits that I bake.

Xylitol dan be bought in the uk under the brand name total sweet you can get it in Holland and Barrett, and some of the larger supermarkets. You should also be able to get it online
