As a prediabetic I don't see a DN yet and I only have yearly fasting blood tests but last time my GP thought although I am not yet T2 it would be a good idea to see the DN who is part of our doctors practice working at the surgery for some advice. My fasting two consecutive tests were 6.9 and 6.8 so the DN said as I am not yet T2 I did not need to see her on a regular basis but she did say that depending on my blood test results in the future if I becomeT2 I might need medication which she said my doctor would prescribe for me So what I did find strange is that it seems that some of your DN's put you on medication without your GP's say so I don't think I would be happy with that and would want the ok from my doctor first I thought only doctors could prescribe medication
