If she hypo's regularly then either bolus ratio is wrong or her basal is too high ( assuming she is basal/bolus ). Keep a BG/carb/insulin diary for a week or so and discuss with her DSN.

That's the trouble with correcting before bed, I would work on her evening meal-time ratio's and try and get that right to avoid correction doses later in the evening.

I have messed about with that and any more insulin that 1:20 makes her hypo but 1:20 leaves her high so then i correct and she hypos i really thinks its the correction or maybe basal needs changing for the bed time hours ?frustrating ...

OK, I don't know a great deal about the pump so I'll leave it there but hopefully someone will be able to offer you better advice. Good luck though and I would still keep a diary to discuss with your team.

Dont no what that is the corrections were put in by the nurse when she was diagnosed ive never changed them and yes its ment to bring her down by 5 but was 14 last night at 11.30 i corrected and she was 3.1 at 7 this morning

Or does 0.5 for 5 mmol mean for every 5 she is over target 0.5 will bring her back to target?so confused

A correction ratio of 0.5 to 5mmol brings your daughters bg level down by just that...5mmol, so if her bg is 11mol it should bring it down to around 6mmol, maybe better speaking with her DSN tomorrow as it looks like her ratio's need changing.

Sometimes basal rates do need to alter. They dont stay accurate for too long so either the bssal rates need testing again or the correction factor needs to change at the time frame in the settings menu. Some people need to use a different correction factor at different times of the day. Could be that at late night you need to alter the correction to 0.5 for a 6 or 7mmol drop and unfortunately get up in the night 4hrs after the correction to see if bg levels are ok, too high or too low and then adjust again if need be...... but you do need to make sure that the bssal rates are ok tooo. Sorry buts its a necessary evil
