Since joining this site a few days ago I have come across people that are taking Cinnamon on a regular basis. And came across some good information. Apparently is had health benefits in other areas such as treatment of Arthritis as well which I suffer from. OK my question is for those who use it, have you found it helpful.:)
Oh and I found this recipe Yesterday and tried it this morning, I was very nice.
1 flat teaspoonful Cinnamon powder.
2 teaspoons Honey.
Take in the morning before breakfast.
Or you can add it to boiled water and sip like tea.

Hello and Welcome.

It's a difficult question to answer as almost impossible to test efficacy of supplements unless you add them for a good period without any others.

However, reports look as if cinnamon can be useful, so I add it to lots of things - fruit, bread, cakes, etc (all low carb versions).

I like the flavour, it won't harm me and might just be doing some good! Cider vinegar is the other thing I use regularly in cooking for similar reasons.

Although not a direct answer to your question, I hope this helps.

Good luck,
Jane.

Not sure if it is beneficail but I love ground cinnamon sprinkled on my berries and greek yougurt

Never taken it as a supplement but it's used lots in Scandinavian cookery. I love the taste so for this reason alone I use it. :D

I have heard that cinnamon can help boost your metabolism. I haven't used it for long enough to be able to tell you if it works or not.

I personally haven't started using it but I'm planning to:D
But my friend does and he recommended it to me because it really helps him

I love the taste of cinnamon and use it wherever I can. I used to add a half teaspoonful to my porridge....before I switched to low carb. I think it can be beneficial for diabetics, especially type 2 diet controlled but you have to be careful which one you use. Culinary cinnamon can contain a certain % of other things and isn't necessarily pure. Only cassia cinnamon has been shown to have a significant effect on glycemic control and this is taken in capsule form. Shame, because if you're taking capsules you miss out on that lovely flavour and aroma.

I love the taste and use it quite a lot in cooking and also in coffee, although for coffee I use ground cardommon far more. Cant honestly say it has ever made any kind of a difference to any bg reading though. It is worth noting it can be quite toxic if taken in large quantities though (as in larger than most sensible people would want to ever use).

Hi and thank you all for your input. I have been looking around, I looked at Cassia cinnamon Beachbag and it says to be avoided. Apparently Ceylon cinnamon is the way to go. But thank you all for your answers.
