what do I need to do now.... I do not want to take any more tablets!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If you give us an idea of a typical day's meals (everything you eat and drink) we may be able to help. Have you got a blood monitor?

Hi. 8 stone is certainly not overweight. I think you should bear in mind the possibility of Late onset T1 (LADA) which I had at age 60. There are more tablets to add such as Gliclazide and Sitagliptin which may help for a while. An HBa1C of 7.5% according to NICE means more action needs to be taken by the GP which means more tablets or insulin. The GP could do a couple of tests to help diagnose LADA, although the treatment path is similar e.g. up to three levels of tablets then insulin; that's the route I've gone thru. Don't worry about insulin; I'm much happier on it then having to starve myself.

Many thanks - Maybe mine cannot be diagnosed as LADA, as i was diagnosed in 2003 and am on tablets since 2004, i am 59 yrs now. The GP has given me three months to see how i can improve by diet, exercise etc and another blood test.
