Hi.. Hope someone can help with my frustrating problem!
2 years ago I had a DKA.. After that time i quickly put on 2 stones.. (between November and January)

I wasnt too concerned at the time, my sugar levels were stable and that was more important.. However.. I now want both!! I want to be back to my regular weight AND have my stable levels!! Here is where im struggling!

This January.. 2 yrs later i started exercising more.. Didnt change my diet, as i dont over eat or eat rubbish.. And lost not a pound! So i came on here, researched low carbing and started on that from February.. Ive now lost 7lb :-) !! But im stuck at that.. I exercise 5 days a week both cardio and light weights with no more weight loss.. And now my sugars are going up?!! With a low carb diet and exercise i thought it would be dropping off, and even expected a few hypos! Im really disappointed that im having to inject just as much as i did before.. And obviously that the weight loss has stopped! All i want is another 7lbs to get down to 9st.. And nicely within BMI instead of teetering at the top of it! Im only 5'3.. Im not being over silly! And want my blood sugars back to normal! Just want to look and feel healthier! Please help!

By the way.. My DKA was due to the Neuro virus.. Not self inflicted trying to lose weight!

Hi. Sounds like you are doing the right things but I wonder whether you have reduced the carbs enough? Have you set yourself a daily target below, say, 200gm? If you are already a lot below that then I'm afraid I can't think of any reason why the weight isn't coming off. BTW how much insulin do you inject?

As you had DKA I guess you are Type 1. As a Type 1 you will really struggle to lose weight unless you progressively reduce your total daily insulin dose.

Hi Silly Jilly, welcome to the Forum. It could be that with your exercise regime you are actually toning up your muscle. I found that when I was a member of Curves, which was exercises on various machines, I put on weight, but my shape changed as I had toned up my muscles.
