Hi I came on a few weeks ago when my blood sugar type two went up and got a lot OG good help and advice and I managed to drop my sugars. However I have rheumatoid arthritis and have been put on a new infusion called Abatacept, I know this can raise your blood sugar and increase your chance of infection. So bang have kidney infection, ear infection and bs now 23. So the question at last... Doc doubled my glibazide to 160 mg twice per day , but I have been on two days with no effect it's stubbornly staying 23 ish. How long will it take for the is ethic drug to work. Not on antibiotics yet as he's waiting on a urine test so bad back etc. getting to the end of my tether. Thanksx

Hey it can take 2 weeks to get in your system. If you have been on it for a while one of the issues os yout body becomes tolerant of it. I hope that helps

Absolutely, I thought I would see a quick difference and my bloods today are 23 to 24 even with new dose, thanks for the reply xxx

Hi. It sounds like you may have to go onto insulin for a short while? Bloods above 20 are not good and can add to infection risk. If Glic doesn't work then insulin is the remaining choice to get more insulin going around?
