"A new you in 42"

Confession time.
I am still in bed.....well it is a bank holiday and my hubby is at work.

You lot have made me feel guilty. Getting up now and going for a walk .

Three days without any exercise apart from walking around shops and exhibitions. Too much driving. Gardening and walking needed today! Even so lost another 0.5kg in the last week.

Walking round shops is about the only way I do my walking. Holding on to shopping trolley to keep me upright. I count that towards 30 minutes.
Have done 10 minutes walking round garden, and 25 minutes walking holding shopping trolley.

Go Jamrox. Its a lovely day.
I have just noticed we are both listed as 'active members'. Something to aspire to!

I am knackered. Stayed up til midnight catching up on game of thrones. Got up at 6.30 because of the gorgeous sunlight. Went to the gym for 8.30 and it was not opening until 9 because of bank holiday.
So, did I go back home? No. I went to the supermarket next to it and bloody hell I bought salad. Then went to the gym. Managed to keep blood sugars below 7 using the rowing machine and using my temp basal on the pump. It went up by 1.8 when I did the weights but dropped back down when I got home.

I am now in total cabbage mode. Must stop staying up late.

The best thing about all the exercise everyone is doing is that it increases our insulin sensitivity. Wish I'd started this years ago.

Its the small changes that make the difference.

Hi Pipp, I like the suggestions of using the stairs in the adverts. That is an excellent idea. (And the only way I will do cleaning is now to think of it as a getting fit activity thanks to this thread.)

Yay CathyP
I sort of think that judging by the fun we are all finding the exercise thing that we are not going to stop after the 42 days. So it shouldn't matter that you join in late.

Yes, I am thinking I should only look at forum on ipad if I am also using the stairs. So well done peacetrain for that idea.

On second thoughts, maybe not. Health and safety rules prohibit that!

....... Its a lovely day......

You're obviously in the right part of the country today. I'm in West Berkshire and it's been raining all day. I still managed a 70 minute walk though and my coat is now dripping on the kitchen floor!

On shift today but managed 45mins on stationary bike and 15mins on X Trainer. Nice start to the week. Is it worth double cos it's a bank holiday ?

went for a drive to a nature reserve to do walk. Hubby had allegedly looked at map but could we find it- no! So ate picnic in nearby village and had a 30 minute romp through some of its footpaths instead. Lovely riverside walk until I spotted some cattle in corner of field and ex-farmer Mr Ethyl wasn't sure from a distance that they were all ladies. So the romp back out of field was a tad quicker. Then trolled round Morrisons looking for flaxseed.

45 minute brisk walk after brunch, across the river bridge and along the opposite shore and back, past bank holiday makers stuffing themselves with things with chips. This is my alternate walk, the other of similar length takes me through the town and onto the promenade. I can't go the full walk that way because of ongoing repairs, but the sea wall should be open again soon.

Can you work out where I live from that?

Some folk think rain is lovely, but we have had sunshine all day.

hehe raining here too (surrey) went treasure hunting with littlen, i reckon we did a few wet soggy muddy miles lol for 7 treasures yay!

And going to the nearest shopping mall in wet weather (are you listening Viking lady!) can be a great way to walk in comfort. Go on a busy day and you can say you've completed an assault course!
Seriously, for people who are unsteady, the ground surface is great for walking on. Good in winter.
