Thank you cheza....tbh I've given up with the drs so have ordered some vitamins. Im just tired of sleeping 12 - 14 hours and waking up exhausted! Even now, after a 12 hour sleep, have already had a nap and could seriously go back to bed. ..

Hello so sorry to hear of your constant problems it must be deflating for you :-( My friend has Fibromyalgia, but not diabetes.
Just a thought, have you been tested for Lupus, because the symptoms are very similar. I wish you all the best for a brighter and happier future. Take care x:

Hiya hope you don't mind me jumping in on the discussion I'm type 2 but feeling the same, exhausted, sleeping for 12+ hrs or more at a time. Been to docs so many times, they said no more tests they could run til I read on these forums and asked for the right ones mentioned in earlier post. Turns out am vit d deficient. Been started on supplements, tho I think they too low. Still feel exhausted, unwell mentally foggy, achey and weak. Thyroid was abnormal but doc says won't do anything til have it rechecked in couple months so more waiting feeling poo
Am only 33 but feel a wreck. Heart rate never below 110 bpm, having ecg tomorrow if I can muster the strength to get to the surgery. Then back the next day to discuss going on to victoza for blood sugars which are up and down so much.
Sending an exhausted hug hope you get to the bottom of it soon and regain your energy.

I have a tub of vit D I'm supposed to take (not prescribed), but I keep forgetting to take them! Yet I know I feel better when I do.

Well, for previous two weeks I stopped my D3 supplements as I was away from home.

I have really felt a big difference in tiredness and mood.

Started retaking last Thursday and can now start to feel my life improving again. Even my hubby noticed it, and I hadn't told him I had temporarily stopped d3.

Hiya hope you have a better time with the new docs, they really make a difference. Had ecg today all normal so that's good.

Had stopped testing bloods as were about same all the time but tested last night and this morning and were in the 16's :s got appointment with diabetes nurse tomorrow, been looking into victosa, hoping she will agree to let me go on it. Doesn't seem to make a difference what or even IF I eat. Not eaten since dinner time yesterday and bloods are still high. Will let u know how I get on, just want some energy!

Vit d 3 separate tablets now 20mg a day.. I normally have a fair bit of sunlight due to my job and hobbies. The max a day I think is 25mg to take.. I take a mulitvitamin as well which also has 5 mg.. So I take (normally) max dosage...

Hiya calamity, I started taking vitamin d3 2000iu daily, I feel so much brighter in mood. Still feel tired a lot ad I have an underactive thyroid. I,ve also started chromium,magnesium, l-glutamine, and vitamin b complex to try and feel better. Have only started yesterday but know how grim it feels to be tired. It's maybe worth giving them a go. Takes three weeks to get the levels back up. I hope this helps. Hugs x

Thank you Denise. Are these confirmed via blood tests? Fibro was diagnosed by rheumatologist, but gp doesn't believe it exists!

Quite a few GPs think that Fibro is 'all in the mind' but its the Rheumatologist who is the specialist (with all due respect to GPs!). Maybe if they had the flares and pain they may think different.... My Fibro was diagnosed by a Rheumatologist and he gave me booklets on it. (I use a TENS machine for extreme pain when, even wearing clothes which are light and roomy hurt me - and forget a bra at that time!!). Fibro fog is enough to make us fatigued alone, but I am trying Vit D as I don't spend much time outside and I do feel a little bit better, though time is young yet, and I also take Vit B12. I am starting to be able to think straight and concentrate some of the time which I feel good about. It was seeing a different GP at my surgery that I got diagnosed with Diabetes. Seeing my previous one he tended to put everything down to depression or stress - even when I had a painful hernia, and you tend to lose confidence in a GP who would rather talk about anything than what you have gone to see him for! If I were you I would see another GP at your surgery and tell him/her you can't go on like this. I understand how hard it is to motivate yourself to try and change things but it may be well worth it. I hope you find a dr who understands and doesn't keep fobbing you off.

Hi, I have been type 1 for just a couple of years longer but that is because I am a couple of years older than you, also diagnosed at 11.I found that I was lucky enough to have lots of energy when my kids were younger now 10 and 13 but have had a couple of years of a real drop in energy despite getting a pump and having even better control. I find that although I am very active, exercising five or more days a weekend

and have a busy family life that just getting through life with type 1, work, two kids and all the rest can have me falling over. ALL the suggestions sound good so far for checks and such but I think it is also a fine balancing act that we all do everyday and it takes its toll every now and then. I hope you find some helpful information the DENs at the clinic can be really useful because they hear so many of our stories.Good luck.

My fibro has pretty much disappeared because of improved brain and pushing my body so physically too.

Having had fibro diagnosis from rheumatologist and been on every drug in the land, then I can honestly say that D3 and really changing the way my brain was thinking too and physically pushing myself so hard... That is what has made mine so much better.

The less the muscles are used the more pain is my thought on fibro. And then the pain mskes you down, and then on a big circle roundabout..

I also bought a sitting down exerciser for my legs... So I literally push them all the timewhen sitting as well.

The tens/ems machine is sat in cupboard.. As I needed to use my muscles myself.

From being on full DLA and barely able to get out of bed... There is a way to fight fibro.. But sorry, I agree with GP on this-not rheumotolgist... Fibro is unknown source of pain in muscles....rheumotologists do not know the cause or treatment for this pain at all. I go with GP's on this..one... Mainly brain in a vicious downward circle...

I can't sing the praises of Vitamin D3 enough. I don't think I've ever felt as ill in my life as I did around the time of diagnosis. I would get up, eat breakfast (back in the days of eating porridge) and then go back to bed and sleep a few more hours. I could barely walk to the end of my street.

Within a couple of weeks of starting D3 I was walking 20 minutes and have just gone from strength to strength. That was before I started losing weight and long before I started on LCHF. I've never had anything have such a fast and profound affect on my health in my adult life. Elevated mood is another huge plus.

indy....can I ask how much you take? I've been taking for a while and tbh am disappointed that I don't feel much improvement. im also taking vik k with it as I read that this was needed alongside vit d3
