Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

No I teach in Blackburn. I've been there 20 years. Before that I worked for NatWest for 16 years. My grandchildren go to Pendle.

We must have a proper conversation by PM but I am away on holiday in Scotland from today until a week Saturday. :)



5.3 this morning, equals my lowest. :D

A good start to my holiday! See you all in a week. Be good ;)

Enjoy your holiday. Our cattle cake all came from Clitheroe when we farmed- Dugdales.

6.2 this morning - stressful night and should have tested when I woke up not after I'd lain dosing for hours.
 
A nice gentle 4.8 at 0530 and then 3 hours after my ready brek I'm at a toe hurting and finger numbing 4.5 and will just get lower until 4.3 by the time lunch is here.

PS another 1lb down

I'm from Blackpool too - Poulton-le-Fylde to be precise, till 18 basically.

6.8 at 7:40am and then I rose from my lair like some black evil groggy thing! Like something from the Black Pool.

Oh you were one of the posh lot then. I was almost posh - from North Shore. ;)
 
6.2 got me after faffing about with kids. Think I'll go back to testing whilst still horizontal as they were lower readings. Or is that cheating?! ;)

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.
 
Deb, everyone knows that when you're lying down all the sugar in your blood rushes to the brain so you get a lower finger-prick reading. No hang on, that's not right is it - no I remember now, that was told to me by the same woman who complained her contraceptive pill was no good because every time she stood up it fell out :rolleyes:

Does anyone have any wisdom to offer on your painful extremities, when lower, Andrew?

Soup? I doubt soup is the problem but what has been souped may have been. Many people forget a good wholesome soup made with root veg will put BG through the roof owing to the carb in root veg. I now only eat veg that grows above the ground.

no not even the DN. I can't be bothered to make an appt for the doctor so it will just wait until I need to see him for something else.

Fingers are tricky, but have you tried taking your (foot) pulse when your toes hurt. Obviously you would want a comparative pain free pulse for comparison. I mean strength, rather than pulse rate. Anyone out there have a Doppler?

yes nice and strong. When my sugars are low I have difficulty getting a large drop from my fingers so it is just the capillaries closing down to keep my core warm. My body has been swimming in treacle for years so it is going to take a while to get used to having a liquid to play with.

In which case, a vest, thermal socks and mittens are the answer. :D
