Hi I normally go for a walk an hour after dinner, I do 5km and it takes me about an hour. I test when I get back and my level is normally in the range of 7.1, once got down to 5.9. Walking is fine for the summer but I need something for the winter. I use to go to body pump and I thought I would start that again, after all muscles burn glucose. I went to body pump this evening and tested after wards I was 10.7 - does any one know why.

Much the same here, go for a walk every night with my dog for an hour after dinner. There's no reason to stop just because of the winter, provided there's adequate lighting and it's safe to do so you should keep the walking up, if it's lashing down outside I use the stairs or my exercise bike to get some exercise, 40-60 times up & down the stairs soon gets the heart racing.

Will definitely walk in the winter as well. I enjoy it, have my shuffle loaded with some pumping music and I just zone out. Thought I would do the body pump to build muscle and endurance. Read some where muscles burn glucose, more muscle burns more glucose.

It doesn't matter what you call the exercise, it's the effort. You can do body pump at fairly low intensity and your BG levels should drop. Same exercise, high intensity may raise levels.

And I have no clue what "body pump" even is lol !

Body pump is lifting bar weights in a high energy routine to music. It is fun. You work set areas - so there is a set of squat based lifts for legs, bicep curls for arms. Shoulder lifts -these are the killers. Then there are bench press lifts for chest. Not forgetting the row lifts and squats for back. It is fun and you get toned as well. She if your local gym has classes. There is also body combat and body balance

Sounds about right, you have to remember that exercise has so many other benefits apart from burning glucose. it can help with your circulation and promote a healthy state of mind.

I bought a poncho. I call it my burka. I go out in the rain in it. I managed to walk all winter but some of it was on tarmac roads. I will confess that much.
