Hi. I have had a Spirit Combo pump for a year and diabetes for 32. I like the better control l get from the pump but still get little hard lumps around the insertion sites and wondered if these can be avoided? I use the softest plastic 'needles' and the site is changed twice a week to alternate sides of my abdomen. I exercise 5-6 times a week.Tips or referrals to a more relevant area of the site would be most appreciated!

Try using an srea on yr body where insulin pen injections were seldom done and try other sets. The Rapid D is a flat set so the only mark will be the small hole for the needle.

Perhaps try a different length or angle of cannula and make double sure you change your cannula every 3 days. Your pump has a luer lock so it might be worth considering a different make of cannula as well to see if that makes any difference. :)

Definitely use more sites. I use bottom, tops of thighs and stomach. Cutting the time spent using my tummy sites by 66% has made a massive difference to me.

Bottom for 30 years for at keast @"% of time and rapid d's 6mm are great.

Odd to me that the cheeky part is never shown as a place to be used because my bum has no lumps or bumps and is still beautiful!! And very rarely problems. Just one occlusion in last 12 months and that I think was my fault.
