Well everybody posting here I can say that Nicola is a bright young girl that is so needing a decent dsn. Perhaps if she'd had decent treatment in the first place her pump wouldn't have been left on basic functionality without a follow up.

I've been privileged to pm, txt and email Nicola and she is a remarkable young lady. I can only advise what I would do if I had her bloods etc and blimey from being taught next to nothing about her pump initially she is absolutely brilliant for her bright, quick learning.

She doesn't give herself enough credit and pats on her back....well she gets full credit and full slaps on the back and hugs virtually from me.

I'm lucky I have great dsn's. One at gp just checks weight and height etc... But nothing else (as with gp's) cos I'm on the pump.

Hospital dsn is great too, even though she did suggest I could move pump elsewhere than my arm. When I told her point blank no, I don't want it anywhere else she never tried to push as she realised that I don't care if my pump shows on my arm when wearing a vest tshirt.

My dsn in Wales hospital was absolutely the best ever, and I will never forget the help that she gave me 4 years ago.

Us diabetics don't half love to rant, it must be part of our condition lol. My DSN is a diabetic too and she's great, lucky me lol:)

Don't see many folk waiting in the wings to rant for us, rant on I say, it lowers the blood pressure

Don't know, if not maybe a new business opportunity for someone, don't mind if its hand written, just want that title, I had a gg gran called her nana skeleton cose she was so thin, her real name was Irma Skelton and yes she had the obligatory wart and whiskery chin but a wonderful little lady with the most gentle melodious voice I have ever heard, mind if she said jump you did without asking how high, she ruled with a rod of iron in a kid glove.

No I couldn't either, lol, oh well still I'm glad I made you smile and gave you a laugh, managed to give the OH a giggle earlier by mispronouncing something, won't repeat it here as I'll be barred for life but I'm sure you get the idea, really must learn to put brain into gear before opening the mouth, trouble is sometimes the words sound right in my head, do you think its the onset of old age argh, or at least buy some new glue for the false teeth.

How kind you are, but haven't you heard the saying a lady never discloses her true age she always knocks at least 10 years off, but then as my granddad used to say, "Your are a lady till you open your mouth" can't for the life of me think what he meant, and you are a babe hardly out of rubber pants
Oh and I've never claimed to be a lady.

How true,
defo a sweetie so I have decided to adopt her into my family and she can join the ranks of my grandchildren there's a gap for a 20 yr old as Joe is 22 and Leah 18

My nurse is really weird. She's sooooo nice and cuddly, but she seems like he knows nothing except the basic A-B-C...
And my dietician... she told me to increase my BASAL when I'm eating nuts, because they're low GI... Like I'm going to plan the day before, "hmm, let's take more levemir, I may eat nuts tomorrow..." 0_0

Obviously she has been taking that astrology loving MP way too seriously ;) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-28464009

"Paulina - as a Taurus, you will be eating cashews next Wednesday and Friday. Adjust your basal accordingly. And as the moon is currently in Kali Yuga, avoid all foods containing the letter "A" ":D
