Greetings.
Just confirmed Type 2. Seeing nurse in two days. I also suffer from Fibromyalgia/CFS Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
My potassium levels are too low, my chloesterol level is low, been put on Metformin and Simvastatin along with Amatriptyline and another anti depressant. Seeing dietcian to work out what's the best diet for myself. I can't have milk, i have a sensible diet at the moment, small portions,
so i can't understand why my blood sugar levels are so high, and taking ages to come down.
I don't eat cakes, desserts, sweets etc etc. When i have rice/pasta etc I make sure portions are small. So i have to find the right balance, i'm not sure when i will be able to see the dietcian, I also cannot have a high fibre intake.
Maybe i'm not eating enough of the the right foods?
I think the nurse is letting me have a monitor to borrow so i can check how the meds are reacting etc etc.
Can anyone recommend a site on info about diet/potassium/carbs intake and what amounts i should be eating.?
Many thanks,
