Very good book for diabetic athletes.

Hi, I'm a type 1 and also a very keen cyclist, was diagnosed when I was at the peak of my cycling when I was 15, which stopped me from racing all together, but I'm getting back into it with the help of a book I found on amazon, actually learning a lot about BG levels and exercise. It's called the diabetic athletes handbook. I deffo recommend it if you are struggling to understand maintaining sugars and intense exercise! :)

I've read that one myself, and found it of some, but limited help. I've leaned a lot through esxperimenting on myself. If you want to bounce any ideas off me, feel free.

The other one I would recommend, but it's a bit more hard core medical biased is the ADA's Handbook of Exercise in Diabetes.
Think Like a Pancreas also has some useful stuff.

Good luck getting back on the bike again, are you a roadie or a mountain biker?

Hi ZoilaFernandez,
You should follow TeamBG and the mHealth Grand Tour - it begins in a couple of weeks. It may be something you would like to sign up for yourself next year! http://www.teambloodglucose.com/TeamBG/mHealth_riders_2014.html
Open to anyone, and a support network of a diabetes community to share with. Worth joining the Sporty diabetic type 1's Facebook group too (find the link through TeamBG website) Loads of keen cyclist to ask advice from.
We're seeing an ex-Novo Nordisk rider this weekend - she wants to get back into racing too. Get in touch with TeamBG if there's anything you think we can help you with.:)

Hi Bebo321, I was going to post a link to your site as well but couldn't remember the name, I've saved it to my favourites so will do in future:)
