Confused by diagnosis

Maybe speak to the nurse again. I had to do this as I was having to snack quite heavily between meals as my levels were low, hence why I ended up reducing down all the time. I felt quite sick with having to snack. Not pleasant at all.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It may be that before the 4 stone loss your hubby had some insulin resistance (T2'ish) and that with the weight loss his blood sugar has gone down and the need for meds has reduced. Yes, be guided by the nurse and see how it goes. I wouldn't increase the carbs too much but increase the protein and fats if needed. The body doesn't really need many, if any, carbs and too many can cause insulin resistance so just set a sensible daily limit of perhaps 200gm max and possibly less. Insulin can always be adjusted to match the carbs in line with the right blood sugar but too much can cause excessive weight gain

The weight loss may also be because of the lack of insulin and high blood sugar levels. Patricia said that her hubby is underweight. When he establishes a regimen that is keeping his blood sugar at safe levels he will probably gain some of the lost weight and begin to feel good most of the time..
