Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

4.1 for me this morning, so pretty much in the groove, for me.

Today is my usual shopping for the weekend day. I don't know why I still do that on a Friday, but it seems some habits are harder to break than others. Another habit I seem to have adopted is dropping into my local factory shop, on the way. It's a great place, where they sell all sorts of clothing from Fat Face, Per Una, Hobbs, White Company, a bit of Next and a couple others. Like all places like this, you have to shop with an open mind. There's no point being set on going for a white shirt or a pair of jeans, because they just may not have any, but when they do, it means Buy, buy, buy! For me, today I went for a couple of long sleeved t-shirts and came home with a summer maxi dress, a summer, flimsy top, a pair of Boden jeans and a wool and cashmere coat. Fortunately, at the moment, there's no need to explain any of these things as I'm on my own. There's always a silver lining!

I've also spent ages sorting out my new laptop, getting my data transferred and all that. Thankfully, that's all done now, and I like it. It's very whizzy fast.

So, this weekend, I must get photographing some stuff I want to put on eBay. I have some lovely winter things that simply don't fit any more, so I'll pop them on and let someone else love them too.

So, onwards and onwards. People to call, bathrooms to clean.

Play nicely. :)

10.1 and has been pretty stable despite falling off the wagon last night and grabbing a prawn sandwich but i have to say I feel ill for it this morning .Carbs like bread really don't agree with me .Felt much better when I was having no grainy starchy carbs so back on the veggie soup today .

@Susiespearish

That's two nights on the trot you've fallen from your wagon. That's not a telling off, but why would that happen? Are you not eating enough for your evening meal? And why a prawn sandwich?

If it's going to become a habit, maybe you have to plan a snack in that would be more in line with your objective?

I was 5.8 - as I said the other day I hadn't been thinking about "the batch" of strips, got a new delivery today though, different batch number, this afternoon I was 5.8 old batch and 5.3 new ones!! So maybe I should have adjusted my recents? I had a few 5.1 day time and even 4.6's so they would be 4.6 and 4.1?? Going to use up remaining old ones doing comparison now out of curiosity!

Hello everyone, glad to see you have all been behaving whilst I've been away. Had a wonderful holiday, the weather was very kind, and the cottage was just superb. Had a horrendous journey down there though. It should have taken us 3 hours from door to door. It took over 8 hours. The M6 was choked up most of the way between Preston and the M5 at Birmingham due to accidents and break downs due to the queues. My bedtime reading was 7.0 which I put down entirely to stress. It has NEVER been that high before, and I woke up next morning on 6.4. The following day I was back to normal by tea time, and have stayed on my usual averages all week.

Bedtime last night 5.2 :)
This morning 5.3. :)

5.5 after another pizza party hating myself to eat all this junk but have no option than to eat all this or I would have to stay hungry

I am still finishing mine off too- I mentally adjust mine and will be interested to see if there are any difference on next batch. Mine have lowered even with the dodgy strips - 4.6 before dinner tonight.

I know its not fasting, but my bs this evening before supper was...........4.8 - an all time low. I'm away from home on another road trip and only had a selection of cheeses plus 2 cafetieres of coffee with cream all day (no drive-thru Starbucks on this route!) Dinner this evening was with friends - fillet steak with mushrooms, kale and blue cheese and yes, a very small portion of Pommes Anna, which the waitress assured us had been roasted in duck fat.

An early night beckons before an early start tomorrow. Curious to see the fasting reading tomorrow.

It's the stupid Metformin Andbreathe .If they have an appetite suppressant effect it certainly doesn't work on me .They just seem to make me more hungry and I wasn't even missing carbs before. The only thing that seems to help the nausea is a snack and that's all i had in .Done the shopping now so restocked on low carb alternatives .

My lowest has been 5.6, highest about 10.5 in the morning. I tend to go to bed very late and do do snack late, then test as soon as I get up. Am on tablets and don't really want to go onto insulin. Haven't had any advice from the hospital on diet so this forum is very useful. The funny thing is, the lowest reading I had was the night after we had a big family barbeque where I ate roast potatoes, white bread, strawberry flan and had a couple of whiskys! On other days I can walk for hours and just have a salad and it will be around 11. I don't understand it really.

4.9 after 8hrs fasting but been awake an hour buying rubbish off hotukdeals. Last food a nice and healthy Donner Kebab oh and 2 pieces of 80% chocolate
