The relief this morning is unreal.

Now I'm just hoping things stay peaceful today!

So pleased it was a No, better together and common sense did prevail in the end. Let's hope everyone can move forward now and not dwell on the past.

Feeling a wee bit sore this morning, however a wee dose of @noblehead,s "comman sense" has made feel a lot better now.:):):)

Glad we are not the Untied Kingdom, after all.

Always felt things might get a bit nasty if there was a no vote. Hopefully I am wrong.

I'm the same. Been very wary this last week. Aberdeen (where I am) should be fine I think but I wouldn't want to be in Glasgow tonight!

Sorry Lideluz your thread seems to have gone all Scottish.

Nothing to be sorry about! Now the fun starts. Tears in the 'Yes' campaign, but they have struck a blow for democracy and reform of the UK system.
45% is a strong result for the need for devolution!

I think your right @hale710

I'm in Dundee and there was meant to be some big party in the city square tonight which may still happen, could be chaos.

Let's hope the minority's don't ruin it for everyone else! A party to celebrate scotland could be a great way to bring everyone back together..... It could also be a disaster. I keep my fingers crossed for you!

Luckily I live in Angus, just work in Dundee.

Hopefully I'll be well away before anything kicks off.

It's said that 85% of those who were eligible to vote voted, which ever way you look at the results today it does pour shame on the interest that is shown in the General Elections, was it only something like 30% bothered to vote in 2010?

Yep, Voting should be compulsory (with the necessary exemptions!) When you look at the effort expended on getting the vote, you shouldn't be allowed to throw it away.

That's a really good point, it's daft to not vote and then moan about who's been voted in.

I predict a much bigger turn out for the next general election!

The problem is, as far as I see it, if you have no faith in any of the candidates, who do you vote for?

Hopefully so, I keep telling my kids what a privilege it is to have the right to vote, if you don't vote you can't change things, simple as that.

What's more important freedom or voting for someone you don't want to vote for?
Dictators force people to do things.
There should be a none of the above option.
I'm all for starting a new political party ... the don't vote for me party.
While you're at it don't vote for anyone else either.
If we could get the entire population to stay at home election day that would cause a constitutional crisis and then they'd really know they had to sit up and take notice.

If voting changed anything it would be illegal.

When you vote the establishment remain.
You only change the faces at the shop counter.
