I think we should send special forces in to secure the oil and gas ... ready the bombers and put in a no fly zone .....

The Romans had the right idea ... build a wall!

i reckon the dinosaurs had the right idea, hide a sea monster in their favourite pond

Bluetit1, we ourselves have never been in a voting booth containing pencils, it's always been small biro's.
A pencil "X" could so easily be interfered with.

The thing is there's so much antagonism and bullying taking place
(don't believe reports stating both sides are as guilty as each other)
and the entire process is wide open to corruption.
It is a very sad and bad situation, I'm ashamed to think England and
the rest of the world will assume all Scotts are of the same nature.

Anyway, best wishes to both sides.

God help the future of Scotland.

That is terrible. God help the future of all of us with people like that around.

Yeah ... democracy is supposed to be about the majority telling the minority what to do ... not the other way round!
That's the fatal flaw with 'democracy' - what do you do if you're a minority with what you think is a genuine grievance? (cf Protestants in Ireland as a whole, Catholics in partitioned Northern Ireland).

Democracy is largely a myth anyway.
We only get to vote for the managers which never effects the owners.
As Maer Rothschild said ... give me control of a nations money and I care not who makes the rules.
Hence we're allowed to put new management in every few years ... so long as the establishment are happy with it.
The establishment never changes.

Thinking about it this Scottish independence may well be rocking the boat of the establishment so the vote might be rigged tampered with or not actually allowed to stand.
If the submarine oil gas and banking questions can't be ironed out then independence will simply not be allowed.

England 1 Scotland 0 I think.

Just been sent a copy of the ballot paper ....

Scotland, you want out? We'll take your place

In the past few years, as America has degenerated into political and economic chaos, it has become increasingly clear that we would be far better off if we apologized for our revolt against the Crown and requested to rejoin the United Kingdom.
There are four main ways America would benefit from unification with the UK: Brits have better health, less inequality, excellent manners and -- let's face it -- a superior culture. Let's improve our quality of life by joining them.

Want to live longer? Then let's become Stateland — the 50-state replacement for Scotland.

Brits have greater longevity than Americans, and the British health care system, while far from perfect, is indescribably better than ours.

Sorry Lideluz your thread seems to have gone all Scottish.

Well at 3am it's
No 49,535 (58%)
Yes 36,097 (42%)

As an outsider looking in (although the wife and all of my in laws are Scottish!), I've been amazed at the yes campaign or the 'Alex Salmond Agenda' if you prefer
"We'll keep the pound" not your decision
"We'll have a monetary union with the Bank of England" not your decision
"We'll keep the Queen as our monarch" not your decision
"Businesses will not move to England" not your decision
"I'll fix the fishing industry" fix it now then

I'm also surprised that no one seems to have queried how independence would work politically within Scotland, there are several separate political parties within the Yes campaign, these are political parties that are usually against each other, they all have ultimately different agendas within their respective parties. In the event of independence (although that now seems unlikely) how are all of these different agendas going to be prioritised?

Sadly I think all this referendum has done is cause deep divisions within Scotland
