Hi , I need a few suggestions ...
My diet is medium carb ...not high fat , but I do choose good fats like olive oil to cook with etc ....I am vegetarian ...
My body does not like high fat ....due to other health problems ...

So in 18 months ....
I have now lost weight I am 11 stone 4 pounds ...I had reached 14 stones ...never touched biscuits just needed the lucerzade ....I was really unwell , then I got myself diagnosed .T2

So I guess with diet I have done well, and with a hba1c of 5.7%, or 39 readings in new money. They were over 100 in new money and I was falling and blacking out...but as I said that was 18 months ago ....

Moving on 18 months .. I am 11 stone 4 pounds ...for the past 12 weeks I can't loose those 4 pounds ...why .???...have I reached a stage where I have to wait ..while my body makes it's own changes.......???

I walk 5 miles a day ...used to be three ...

My goal is to be 10 stones ...I work in old money ....

My diet ....alpen no added sugar with almond milk and flax seed ,,about 8 blueberries

Lunch ...always homemade soup ....small bread roll or slice of bergan ....fruit

Dinner always a veggie meal .....maybe small portion of rice once a week ....small potatoes sometimes... Pasta no I don't like it ...
Tonight for example it is a chickpea and aubergine stew .... That is really a low carb meal ....but then in reality over my life time most of my meals have been low carb or medium carb , I just did not know it .... Please don't ask me to count calories ...don't know how ....have a maths block ....calling @andrewcolvin to my rescue on that subject..

Drinks water ....my diet has always been veggie ...

Now how do I speed up my body to loose those 4 pounds ....I am looking for a steady way ...to keep the weight off, and that is what I have archived so far ...

Ideas welcome .....also take iron b12 and metformin .....and under active thyroid ...on medication ..

Thank you for any thoughts which may help ...I am a bit stuck , researching and reading , but stuck .......

@Kat100 - you need a space in @Andrew Colvin 's name, but hopefully, he'll get a nudge from this message.

How tall are you Kat, and what does that make your BMI?

If you put your food into into myfitnesspal.com (and check packets or supermarket websites where you can), it will do any adding up required. Once you have a few things it, it becomes quick.

Alternatively, you could try a very short while of a week or so on very low carb to give your body a kick? If you're on a "balanced diet", which is absolutely fine as it works for you, then it really is a case of doing something different - cutting down or increasing calorie intake to stimulate your body by the change.

I was fortunate that I didn't stall at all, and indeed had issues stopping weight loss when I had reached my desired level of skinniness. We're never happy!!

thank you , yes it is the balance of my diet which has worked for me ...looking at my portions etc and a bit of guess work ...
Now , is the question , do I increase my diet to speed up or decrease ...not sure what I can decrease ...but it does need that kick start again ...yes you are right something different to stimulate change .... I do not think I could manage the walk without the soup and roll ...
Thank you for replying.....best wishes Kat

Ps ...nearly forgot I am 5 ft 5 inches and just borderline in the BMI....the higher number lol x

Hi kat, wish I could help, but I cant think of anything that could help. I'm sure there are others out there who have had similar issues with weight loss, so hopefully someone will be along with something positive :) Good luck X

Hi Kat,

I had to calorie count as well as carb count, and kept my calories down to 1200. I have now increased this as I no longer need to lose weight. You would need more than this because of your 5 mile walks. I only do 2 miles. Try Myfitnesspal because it will tell you how many calories you need to consume to lose x amount of pounds a week. You do have to be careful using the foods they have in their data base because the entries are member submitted and many are just guesswork, but it is easy to add your own foods in using the labels or the internet to find the calories etc. It will then tell you how much weight you should lose or gain in the next 5 weeks eating at the level you ate at "today".

Well done on what you've achieved so far Kat :)

I think counting calories (when attempting to lose weight) is important, as a suggestion you could join a slimming group such as Weight Watchers or Slimming World to give you the final push, we've had many a member who have sang the praises of these groups when attempting to lose weight.

Whatever you do I wish you the best of luck.

Kat have you stopped losing weight since you went from three to five miles? Are you muscle building? If so just wait it out and it will come. If not then you may need to reduce some of the calories.

Hello, nobblehead , Thank you so much ....I will get sorted ....I am seeing GP on Tuesday ....I may not be eating enough , and burning off the cals with exercise ...could be the problem ...a bit of an imbalance somewhere ....
Something just needs adjusting somewhere....
Good idea slimming world ....just for that last stone ....then I will be me again .... :) can't wait ... I will look into that ..Thank you...
This t2 never one cause , I had the symptoms for many years ...so to,put everything right in two years ...is a challenge ....but it is one I have taken on.
Of course I am now talking reflectively ....you know what it is like , when an individual has a problem and you 'can't see the wood from the trees' I had that experience because so many health issues were going on ...
Often the way ...
Anyway ...thank you for your support ....much appreciated ....have a nice weekend , best wishes ...Kat

Hello Andrew , Thank you for your reply , yes that is true , the weight loss has stopped since walking further .......yes that is so right ....
I was told my legs look great !!! ;) muscles to be seen ...
Where can I reduce my cals do you think ???
I very much appreciate your feedback ...thank you , best wishes ...Kat

If you are building muscle then do not reduce your calories as you need them to build muscle. Just keep going and see what happens in a few more weeks when you should have finish muscle massing

I am fitting into a size 12 fitted ...10 not fitted .....me back in leggings ....yes my legs have become muscles ....
Still a stone to go to get back to the real me .... I will keep on and see what happens ....

Do you think I am under eating for my walk ...I took a 9 bar with me today ....just in case....
9 bar I read about them somewhere , yes a bit of sugar in them ....7grams I think ....not sure ....I take a bottle of water to ...

Once again thank you Andrew , I have muscle ....Kat
